Arab Women Silent on Plea from Abducted Soldier's Wife

Reported: 14:03 PM - Feb/28/07

(IsraelNN.com) Karnit Goldwasser, wife of kidnapped IDF soldier Ehud Goldwasser, said her appeals to Lebanese and Palestinian Authority (PA) women to help release her husband have fallen on deaf ears.

She and Binyamin Regev, brother of kidnapped soldier Eldad Regev, were at the United Nations to ask for more help in freeing the soldiers. "I think a wife wherever in the world, if her husband was kidnapped, in Israel or in Lebanon, if she is a Jew or if she is a Muslim, has the same feeling," Karnit Goldwasser said.

She asked Arab women and asking them "to meet us, to combine forces and to bring back their beloved ones and our beloved ones. Unfortunately, they did not yet have the ability to accept our call."
