Two of the largest synagogues in Gush Katif have been transformed into military bases used by Arab terrorist groups, according to a WorldNetDaily report.
The synagogue were abandoned during the 2005 Disengagement, in which the IDF and Israel Police forcibly evicted Gaza's 9,000 Jewish residents.The Cabinet decided not to destroy the synagogues, though the rest of the houses and structures in Gaza were demolished.
Popular Resistance Committee terror chief Abu Abir told WND that the synagogues are used to fire rockets at Israeli towns and cities. "We are proud to turn these lands, especially these parts that were for long time the symbol of occupation and injustice, like the synagogue, into a military base and source of fire against the Zionists and the Zionist entity," Abu Abir said.
