Prime Minister Ehud Olmert called upon the international community Wednesday to increase pressure on Iran to cease uranium enrichment. "Today is the last day that was designated by the international community and by UN Security Council Resolution 1737," Olmert told representatives of the foreign press. "Therefore the international community will have to think of additional measures (against Iran)," the Prime Minister said.
Olmert said that the world must take all necessary steps in order to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. He said, however, that the UN could conduct diplomatic contacts with Iran. According to the Associated Press' version of the news conference, Olmert "did not rule out" an Israeli attack on Iran.
