Jews Allowed on Temple Mount After 3 Weeks
Jews were allowed on the Temple Mount Wednesday, for the first time in three weeks. Police had been preventing Jews from ascending to the holy site because Muslim leaders had incited their faithful to riot, on the pretense that Israel was trying to damage the mosque on the Temple Mount.
The Temple Mount is the site where the ancient Jewish Temple, first built by King Solomon, once stood. Despite the fact that the Mount has been in Israeli hands since 1967, Jews are not allowed to pray on it.
