Police announced early Wednesday morning that they have found the man who murdered 18-year-old Maayan Ben Horin. The murderer is a 17-year-old Arab youth from the Bedouin town of Mahel.
According to police, the youth attacked Ben Horin as she made her way to work on a nearby farm. He attempted to rape her, and then killed her with repeated blows from a rock. He was discovered by use of DNA tests and later confessed to the crime.
While the murderer claims that Ben Horin’s death was an accident, and had no political motivations, police are skeptical. The murder clearly shows advance planning, they said.
