A new English-language radio station will be broadcasting from Ramallah starting on Wednesday, according to the Haaretz news service.

The station, to be partly underwritten by South African Jewish philanthropist Isaac Kirsh, will cost the businessman at least half a million dollars, some 25 percent of the total initial budget. The Ramallah station will include an hourly newscast from “Middle East Eyewitness News” as well as adult contemporary music.

Studios will be located in western Jerusalem as well as the Samarian city, but broadcasts will emanate from Ramallah.
