PFLP Terrorist Group To Join Unity Government Reported: 11:12 AM - Feb/19/07
(IsraelNN.com) The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) terrorist group has accepted an invitation to join the new Fatah-Hamas unity government, the independent Ma'an news agency reported. Hamas spokesman Ismail Radwan said that the PFLP offered to participate in the government in return for more ministerial representation.
Islamic Jihad terrorists have refused an invitation by Hamas to join the government. The United States and Israel have not commented on the addition of the PFLP. They have labeled Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, head of the Fatah faction, as a moderate despite the Mecca agreement that does not fulfill Abbas' previous promises that Hamas must renounce terror, accept existing agreements and recognize Israel. Abbas has accepted the conditions in theory but the PA has not met any of them. The latest agreement was the Gaza ceasefire in late November, which has been broken more than 100 times by the continuing Kassam rocket attacks on the Negev and Ashkelon. The new unity government also has invited the Palestinian National Initiative (PNI) to join. It is headed by Dr. Mustafa Barghouti, who said the PNI may join on the basis of making Jerusalem the capital of a new Arab country, the removal of the separation barrier and the refusal to accept temporary borders for a new Arab state. ![]() Check out the Chill Zone - Funny, Entertaining Videos © IsraelNN Syndications - This article may not be republished freely.
