Communications Minister Ariel Attias responded favorably to a request by Postal Authority officials and labor representatives to discuss relevant issues. His positive response caused the canceling of a Postal Authority strike.

The strike primarily affected diplomatic mail and peripheral communities served by mobile post offices. Due to the brevity of the strike, very little mail accumulated.
