(IsraelNN.com) Government prosecutors have ordered the police to open a criminal investigation against rabbis who issued a religious ruling (halacha) against Yair Naveh, head of the Central Command, after he signed orders extending a ban on several residents of Judea and Samaria from their homes.
The rabbis are suspected of breaking the law by ruling that Naveh is guilty of turning against fellow Jews, incitement and "terrifying the public." The rabbis' ruling included a statement that Naveh was guilty of crimes whose punishment could be death.
