(IsraelNN.com) Pictures of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad hugging hassidic men with side-locks, beards and long coats at the two-day conference in Teheran that questioned whether the Holocaust took place has sparked stern protest from hareidi-religious quarters.
The Eida haHareidit, a Jerusalem-based amalgamate of various hassidic courts and hareidi-religious groups, of which the Neturei Karta consider themselves a part, editorially attacked the specific men who took part in the Iranian Holocaust denial conference.
"That tiny group of weirdos is liable to incite hatred against hareidim," warned the editor of Ha'edah, the mouthpiece of the Eida Hareidit, in an editorial appearing Thursday.
Among those in the Jews United Against Zionism delegation in Teheran were Rabbi Yisroel Dovid Weiss, Yisroel Feldman and Aharon Cohen, all of Jerusalem.
