(IsraelNN.com) PA chief Mahmoud Abbas claims that Israel has pledged to release convicted Arab terrorists in exchange for the release of kidnapped soldier, Corp. Gilad Shalit. Abbas says he bases his remark on statements made by Israeli and Egyptian sources.
Abbas, who is also referred to by his PLO terrorist name, Abu Mazen, said Israel has agreed to release terrorists who have served at least 20 years of their sentence.
Abbas also said that upon the release of Shalit, Israel will halt its military operation in Gaza and release Hamas members of the PA parliament awaiting trail in Israel for belonging to a terrorist organization.
