(IsraelNN.com) IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-General Dan Halutz Thursday night attacked the Supreme Court ruling upholding the Knesset law allowing yeshiva students to defer military service. Halutz has made several sharp attacks against yeshivas students since taking office and in the past has threatened to close down Hesder yeshiva programs which require students to serve in the IDF.

"There is no reason why my children should serve, but others won't serve at all," he told a Be'er Sheva conference. General Halutz added that those who cannot serve in the armed forces should do national service.
