Many people have seen the harrowing video from the terror attack in the evil village of Huwara today in the Shomron. Just in case you haven't, its here. Thank G-d, a tragedy was averted through G-d's mercy and the heroic actions of the Jewish driver in saving himself and others from harm by his brave repelling of the bloodthirsty attackers. This is not the first attack on Jewish motorists traveling through Huwara, and not even close. Its constant. One has to wonder why on earth the army was not more present in the village today during the riot, when it was obvious there would be a clear and present danger to any identifiable Jew.

Jews who live in the "Gav HaHar' communities of Itamar, Elon Moreh, Har Bracha, Yitzhar and their satellite communities must travel daily through Huwara to and from their houses. There is no other real alternative. (The Government has committed to building a bypass road, but actual construction is yet to even commence). This is real dedication. Mesirus Nefesh. Don't forget, all these communities border the city of Shechem, home of Joseph's Tomb, but also a hornet nest of terror.

These communities and their residents deserve our support! World Jewry owes them a tremendous debt of gratitude for their willingness to give up any semblance of comfort to protect Eretz Yisroel and insure access to holy sites for Klal Yisroel. These communities boast Yeshivas, high schools, farms, businesses and tourist sites. We should be supporting them! We should be investing in their future because their future is our shared future. Instead, we are reading misleading headlines in other "publications" about what happened today and pathetic attempts to besmirch the victims. We cannot allow this to pass. We must act!

Watch the video again, thank G-d for the outcome and commit to personally doing something for the holy communities of Gav HaHar in the Shomron. Donate to their Yeshivas (Elon Moreh, Itamar, Har Bracha, Yitzhar), invest in/finance their residential  and commercial development, buy products from their wineries and dairy farms, defend them online against baseless claims and pray for their success and safety. Its in our vital personal interest and its every serious Jew's personal responsibility.

Shabbat Shalom,

Ben Packer
