Last week UNESCO passed an Anti-Israel Resolution which denies "Jewish connections to the Temple Mount and Western Wall in Jerusalem". Twenty four UNESCO member states voted in favor of the resolution, 26 abstained and only six voted against.

France was among the countries that backed the resolution. UNESCO's revision of History which is an outright falsehood is nothing new. In October 2015 UNESCO made headlines when it declared Rachel's Tomb and the Cave of the Patriarchs Muslim Holy Sites. Interestingly, at that time they dropped their bid to claim the Western Wall a Muslim Holy Site.

A year later they declared the Western Wall indeed a Muslim Holy Site. All the facts in the world whether Historic, Biblical or Archeological did not stop UNESCO from making its pronouncements. It is particularly curious that the Arabic name for the Temple Mount -Al Quds, actually stands for "Al Bayit Al Muqqadash"  the Jewish Temple of Solomon (Beit HaMikdash). UNESCO obviously does not know Arabic. Historical Revisionism is nothing new to the Jewish People.  It was used by the Nazis to deny Jewish attachment to Germany. Perhaps, Prime Minister Netanyahu said it best, "To say that Israel has no link to the Temple Mount is like saying that China has no link to the Great Wall or that Egypt has no connection to the Pyramids." As absurd and Anti-Semitic the UNESCO Resolutions are, they are part of an overall strategy which is much more sinister. UNESCO's aim is to deny Israel's existence. They are doing it piece by piece.

Next on the agenda is to declare a PLO State on pre-1967 Borders and hope the President of the United States will help out and not veto the resolution. The President has used this threat on occasion. The New York Times on October 6th proposed that the President do just that. The Times editorial board said, "The best idea under discussion now would be to have the United Nations Security Council, in an official resolution, lay down guidelines for a peace agreement covering such issues as Israel's security, the future of Jerusalem, the fate of Palestinian refugees and borders for both states." No doubt the President is using as is his wont the New York Times as an echo chamber of what he would like to see happen. UNESCO by denying Israel's connections to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is trying to assist the President to make a unilateral move and declare a PLO State on pre-1967 borders. Thus far the President has not criticized the latest UNESCO resolution. Imposing a PLO State via the United Nations upon Israel would deny Israel the Right to negotiate a durable Peace.

It would create greater instability in an already extremely volatile and combustible Middle East. Ultimately, not only Israel will suffer but so will America. UNESCO is leading the charge. Denying Truths and Facts only lead to horrendous outcomes. I would hope the President does not want to make this part of his legacy.
