I am a resident of Shiloh, with my wife and children, and now grandchildren, since 1981, having come on Aliyah in 1970. I have served in a volunteer capacity as a Yesha Council spokesperson, twice a member of Amana's secretariat, Benjamin Regional Council plenum member and mayor of Shiloh. I was a parliamentary aide for Geula Cohen and two other MKs, an advisor to a Minister, vice-chairman and executive director of Israel's Media Watch and currently, am Information and Content Resource coordinator for the Begin Heritage Center.

I read a news item that claimed that "settlers" were criticizing the government?

Operation Protective Edge was conducted in a fashion that residents of Judea and Samaria found less than successful and Ministers Naftali Bennett and Avigdor Lieberman were outspokenly critical but Naftali actually lives in Raanana if he is identified with "settlers" due to his previous position with the Yesha Council.

The item intrigued me.

So, I opened the news item and there it was:

(Illegal) Settlers severely criticise Israeli government
August 11, 2014
Israeli settlers from some of the settlements around the Gaza Strip harshly criticised the Israeli government during a meeting with the country’s internal security minister, Yitzhak Aharonovich, according to Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper. The newspaper reported that Aharonovich met on Sunday with settlers from the Kfar Aza settlement, who proceeded to harshly criticise him for the continued fire of Palestinian rockets. The criticism comes after the Israeli government had promised settlers that it was “safe to return home”.

Orit Brown from Kfar Aza settlement said: “Towards the ceasefire there was a call for Gaza-area residents to return to their homes. I have no words to describe the anguish we felt Friday morning, the fear, the anxieties, the loss of faith, the crisis and the frustration.”

No, I am not making that up:

But Kfar Aza is one of the kibbutzim and other villages in pre-1967 Israel.

So, all of Israel is an "illegal settlement" according to Hamas (and most of Fatah).

We're all 'settlers".

Israel must be eradicated is their demand.

No partition.

No compromise.

Just saying.

At least for the sake of all our progressive liberal Jews.  So that they know the truth.
