Our entire lives here in our Land are full of challenges, mixed with miracles.  The miracle of the return to our eternal homeland.  The miracle of building and bringing up generations of Jews here in our Land.  The miracle of serving in our army and being able to fight to protect our Torah, Land and people.  We literally live through miracle after miracle facing the hatred and attempts to destroy us both physically and spiritually.

This will never happen.  We will unite as a people and defend what is ours.

I just realized that today the English date is July 21.  Not only the continued war that our brave citizens and soldiers are facing with such courage and fortitude.  Personally this date is one of special symboliism to me for on July 21, 1968 as a young girl I returned to the Land of our fathers and literally my fathers who came here to Safed in 1823.

I searched and found something that I had written in school while still in the United States as a very young girl before I came home.

"I support Israel as most Jewish people do, but unlike most of the Jews today I am doing something about it.  This June I will embark on a journey which has been greatly anticipated and long waited- I am going home.  Yes, although I was born in America to me home is the Land of my people- the Land from which my Grandmotherand family came and my Land- Israel.  I plan to obtain citizenship which is automatic for any Jew coming home to Israel and then I will journey to my residency on a kibbutz.  I intend living on the kibbutz at least a year, in order to become accustomed to the life and to decide whether it suits me or not.  In any case I will remain in Israel either on a religious kibbutz, or perhpas in the home of my family- Safed.  But I am very grateful and elated so much in fact that it is impossible to clearly express my feelings- for I like so many Jews will experience the joy and ecstacy of at last returning home."

In the end my husband and myself chose a communal village to build, live in and B"H raise our family in, Bet Horon for the last 34 years.  An interesting angle of this date is that my date of Aliyah is shared with two beloved friends- Bryna and Sammy Hillburg from Netzer Hazani.

I pray for the safety and security of our people, and for our soldiers to destroy our enemies and return home safely amen.  I pray for the recovery of the injured and grieve with the families of our fallen HY"D.  May we go from strength to strength in the name of our L-rd.amen
