Whether the IDF succeeds in saving the three teenage hostages or not, we the people have a right to demand that our elected leaders stand by their words and their threats.
For weeks we have been hearing the mantra that the PA, the Palestinian Authority - AKA the Hamas AND Fatah Unity Regime - will be held accountable for any terrorist attacks. Now that it's happened, we see the IDF only going after Hamas terrorists, carefully avoiding the "innocent" civilians who voted for them, while Fatah has the honor of Netanyahu asking their assistance to find the hostages.
What he should be doing is the following:
1. Close down and destroy Mahmoud Abbas's Mukata headquarters in Ramallah, but first capturing all weapons, then taking and publicizing all updated documents that prove that he is financing terror to this day.
2. Shut down Hebron and every PA-controlled city completely. Shut off the electricity. Shut off the water.
3. Start bombing every stronghold of Fatah, of Hamas, and of the Palestinian Authority and make it clear that the bombing will not stop until the Israeli boys are handed over safely to the IDF.
In fact, all of these actions should be continued at least until the boys are safely released. Most importantly, a clear ultimatum should be delivered to Mahmoud Abbas and all of his terrorist henchman that if the boys aren't returned alive and well within 24 hours - then every top Fatah/Hamas leader, INCLUDING ABBAS HIMSELF will be killed.
The best defense is a good offense - and not just words.
