Yesterday, Wednesday we,some of the famiies of victims of terror ,met in the Knesset with Deputy Minister of Defense Danny Danon. Each time we get together in order to try and prevent the release of murdering terrorists it seems more surrealistic than the previous time. What government releases murderers of its citizens who are remorseless and not only intend to return to terror -they are hailed as brave heroes by the heads of the PA - our "partners" in the one sided attempt to reach "peaceful co-existance".
Each one spoke- Sherri Mandell first- mother of Kobi HY"D who along with his friend Yosef Ish-Ran HY"D both a mere 13 years old, were brutally stoned to death in a cave near their homes. I remember when I went to the Shiva (the 7 days of mourning) that even then Sherri said "that she was grateful that the terrorist murderers were not found so that they would never be released."
Along with the endless pain of loss is the unbelievable fear of the murderers of our loved ones being released- and it has happened time after time. The horror of these releases are joined with the feeling of deep berayal by the government which is supposed to protect the citizens and not encourage terror by releasing these murderers knowing that they do not regret their actions and knowing that the leaders of the PA will greet them as heroes.
Each family with its horror story of pain, shock, the agony of loss and the fear of the G-d forbid next family to suffer the same horror.
Deputy Defense Minister Danon spoke to us and said that if this next release is actually implemented he will leave his office and that other members of the government feel the same way.
We will meet again this coming Wednesday to demonstrate in front of the Prime Ministers house - to try and help prevent the release of these murdering monsters and convince the Prime Minister and government to cease and desist from encouraging these murderers to seek the next victims.
It is possible to take the pain of loss and turn it into hate - or to do what we believe is right in memory of our loved ones- to fill ourselves with love- love of HaShem of our Torah and Land and Nation and try to do good in memory of those we lost and keep their light and love alive.
During yet another painfully almost impossible time when my husband was reported missing in action in the Yom Kippur War (after many months TG he came home ) I wrote the following:
Land of hopes
Land of war
Dreams we hold
Of our children growing tall
From all corners
We have come
To build a home
Oh Land of beauty
Of prayers and work
Endless problems, and duties
Behind all which our future lurks
A hundred cultures
Between thousand minds
Searching for common plaine
Search on high
Each independent yet all try
To reach and build this dream of peace
A land of one- of unity and happiness"
We who have lost our loved ones will continue in their name and do our best to protect our Land and people and pray that the Prime MInister and government of Israel will finally do the same by not releasing terrorists.
