Yonaton is happily married with 6 children, and 9 grandchildren, and lives in the most amazing Torah community in the world - Har Bracha.

Riding through the Arab populated village of Huwara yesterday on my way home to Har Bracha – Israel's 'Iron Dome', situated on the frontline of Jewish settlement of Eretz Yisrael – I heard talk on the radio about Machmud Abbas' health situation and the possibility of political change amongst the Arabs, and then I saw banners with his picture hanging throughout the village and realized this could mean only one thing: elections are in the air.

This got me thinking: Why is it that the Arabs can never elect normal, upstanding people as their political leaders and representatives? Why do they always have to vote for thieves, liars, and the lowest of lows? There must be tens, if not hundreds, of normal, hardworking Arabs – educators, doctors, judges, lawyers, businessmen, and women – who could run for office, and turn the situation of Arab society around three hundred and sixty degrees?! Why don't honest, trustworthy Arab citizens run for office, and thus make a true difference in the way life is run in the Arab street?

Imagine if the Arab politicians were decent, tax-paying, and law-abiding citizens, instead of "leaders" who incite and 'lead' their people to death and destruction, always having to oppose the State of Israel – no matter how much the Arabs actually benefit from it! Imagine if there were Arab representatives who could be reasoned with – leaders who could understand and happily accept their po‎sition and situation in the big picture of the return of the Jewish nation to its homeland after thousands of years of exile, instead of clashing and fighting with the State of Israel at every turn? When will they realize that their blessings and improvement of their individual lives in particular, and Arab society in general, is dependent on the growth, development, and flourishing of the Jewish nation in its Land!? Life for Arabs and Israeli's alike could be so much better!

Therefore, specifically at this moment in time, in the month of Ramadan – the month of repentance and mercy – I am calling on all decent Arabs to vote for political representatives who will lead you down the path of life, and not the opposite!

Imagine – you may say I'm a dreamer, but I hope I'm not the only one!
