Below is footage of a Georgian news reporter who was shot LIVE on TV while giving her report. Tamara Urushadze from Georgia's state-owned news agency, was grazed by a bullet while reporting from a highway near Gori.  She was hit in her lower arm.  After a few moments, she continues her report while still bleeding.  Brave woman.

Russian Invasion Into Georgia.

I am just wondering, doesn't it seem a bit like deja vu with the Russian invasion of Georgia and the German invasion of Czechoslovakia?  It seems as if the Georgians are looking to the West for help, but, aside from nice words, are essentially being thrown to the dogs.

Defense Secretary Robert Gates said he sees no need to invoke U.S. military force in the war between Russia and Georgia. He warned, however, that U.S.-Russian relations could suffer for "years to come" if Moscow doesn't retreat.  …"

So, is this the friendship and support the West decides to throw Georgia's way, to wag their fingers at Russia and say, relations COULD suffer for years to come if they swallow their southern neighbor?  'Could' ?  Gee, that should make the Russians shiver in their boots and make them run back to mommy.

With friends like those, I think Israel should re-think its relationship with its Western alliances.  Israel should retain our good relations, but not depend on them to come to our rescue or broker deals which promise peace, but deliver instead, bloodshed and loss of integral territory and our holy heritage.  We can't rely on the West like Czechoslovakia & Georgia, and we certainly can't rely on the Eastern block.  That leaves us to our own means, to gear ourselves up for a possible battle with those who wish to see our destruction, and, to lift our eyes towards heaven, and acknowledge G-d's omnipresence.  We are after all, a nation that dwells alone (Numbers 23: 9 "it is a people that shall dwell alone, and shall not be reckoned among the nations."

Israel's leaders are following the tail of the dog in front of us which is chasing wealth and power.  We should be leading them, instead, towards light and righteousness.  We are after all, the first-born of the nations.   As it says in the Torah when God sends Moses to tell Pharaoh, the leader of the world at that time, in  Exodus 4:22 "And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh: Thus saith the LORD: Israel is My son, My first-born."

Israel should not be another Czechoslovakia or another Georgia, thrown to the dogs.  We are G-d's first born, ...and we should act that way.

Been there, done that.

Recently, our leaders, with the guidance of the Bush administration, the International Community and their vision of a 'New Middle East' through the Road Map, have been bandying about with the bright new idea that a divided Jerusalem would bring peace and security to its Jewish inhabitants from Arab terror.  See PM Olmert's latest statement to the People of Israel:

Olmert: Undivided Jerusalem Means More Terrorism   Prime Minister Ehud Olmert maintained Monday that retaining Jerusalem as the undivided capital of Israel would lead to more terrorism. "Whoever thinks it is possible to live with 270,000 Arabs in Jerusalem must take into account that there will be more bulldozers, more tractors, and more cars carrying out attacks," he said. Three eastern Jerusalem Arabs carried out terrorist attacks in the capital this year; two of them used a bulldozer and a tractor.

The only problem is that it's been done before.  Jerusalem WAS divided back from 1949-1967, and there was no peace, no quiet, no security for the Jerusalem residents near its border.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words.  Please view below these photos, which anyone can find on the internet, and see what Jerusalem looked like when she was cut in two with ugly barbed wire fences.  Take a look at the buildings in Jerusalem that were under constant sniper fire from the Arab side.  Imagine how it must have been to try to get from one part of the city to another when it was divided and no Israeli security was able to neutralize the Arab snipers.

If we fell for this 'new' old idea of dividing the city and ceding land, would we once again see ourselves taking positions like these in Jerusalem? Will Jerusalem once again look like this?

The future, according to our prophets, promises a united Israel, peace, and the building of the Third Temple, which will be in the eastern part of the city.  The Road Map and any plans to re-divide Jerusalem is counter to that lofty goal.  Somehow, people today forget why those of us who were exiled have been brought back to Israel.  Re-dividing Jerusalem is a formula that will not work.  Mr Olmert, Mr Bush, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL you are building.

Fighters of the past who died to liberate and re-unite Jerusalem, thanks, but no thanks.  Bush & Olmert want to give it away to our enemies. - Oh, and you can cancel the holiday that celebrates the re-unification of the city called 'Jerusalem Day'.  It will be redundant.  How can we celebrate a liberation and re-unification when we have given it away? 

So, the next time you hear anyone speak about dividing Jerusalem, just tell them, 'Been there, done that, and it didn't work." 

No, no, no, no...  I didn't want to be right on this one.  I really didn't.  And what surprises me is that I thought we would have to wait longer to see if my theory was correct or not.  I am talking about a conspiracy to get the people to agree, even to demand, the division of Jerusalem - for fear of their safety.

I had written about this on a previous blog "Duped by Fear - The Demand to Divide Jerusalem".  I had asked you to keep your eyes open and watch for more terror attacks which would scare people into compliance in agreeing to divide the city.  I added, "What great psychology to use against a population IF this is true.  I suggest we keep our eye on the ball and see what transpires.  Somehow, I can't help thinking this could be all too convenient for those who want Jerusalem divided.  Now, I'd like to see facts, one way or another, to answer this question."

'SEPARATION' HAS NOT WORKED AND DOES NOT WORK

Three eastern Jerusalem Arabs carried out terrorist attacks in the capital this year; two of them used a bulldozer and a tractor. 

It breaks one's heart. And have we learned nothing?  Have we not learned after separating from the Arabs in Gaza/Gush Katif, that  'separation'  DOESN'T solve terror and military attacks on our nation?  We left and separated from the Arabs in Gaza, and they have only intensified their rocket attacks against our nation.  We separated and left South Lebanon, and the Arab enemy has only built up its forces stronger, and has had them grow even bolder, having them intensify their attacks even deeper and more deadly into Israel. I think it has been proven that 'SEPARATION' has not worked and DOES NOT WORK.   The only thing that works, is ENDING the war by utterly crushing the enemy forces, bringing them to their knees, and making THEM beg for an end to the conflict. We must follow the same policy of the Allied Forces in WWII when they crushed the Nazis. 
Jerusalem was divided before 1967, and we did not have peace...

Appeasing, disengaging, and 'separation' do not work.   It's been proven.  Ask the residents of Sderot who are being rocketed by the Arabs in Gaza almost everyday.  The same will happen if we divide Jerusalem.  It was divided before 1967, and we did not have peace, we were constantly under fire from Arabs in the eastern part of the city. Re-dividing Jerusalem will be even more dangerous today than it was in 1967. Yet, that is what we are witnessing now, the purposeful abandonment of our Holy City.

I didn't want to be right about The Jerusalem Conspiracy, but it seems I was.

I just received an email from an angry reader/listener condemning all of the Jewish People, 'your nation' he wrote, because someone took out the note that Obama apparently wrote and stuck in the crevices at the Kotel (Western Wall).  I don't think that anyone would really argue that it was an ethical thing to do.  But in politics, and running for the most powerful office in the world, nothing really is private when you make yourself public. His trek to the Kotel was out in public and cameras accompanied him. Whoever took the note that was left there and gave it to the papers was not right, but it was expected.

Here is a photocopy of the note from the New York Times, which while the media condemns the Maariv news paper for publishing it, and the breech of privacy, doesn't see a problem in re-publishing it in their own papers for millions of more people to read.

                             "Lord—Protect my family and me. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just. And make me an instrument of your will,"

Seems to me, that Obama probably knew his note would be read.  If John McCain, Britney Spears or Michael Jackson left a note, that note too would probably be pulled out for the media/paparazzi.  Again, it doesn't make it right, it's just the reality.  And Obama and his advisers probably knew that. 

If Obama really was writing a PRIVATE letter to G-d, he might have written something like this...(all in jest)

"Praise allah, Please protect my family and me from all the American and Israeli infidels. Forgive me my sins (of playing down my Islamic roots, -darn that middle name of mine), and help me guard against pride and despair (which will make me look too frightening to the West). Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just.  And make me an instrument of your will, praise allah! allahu akbar!  p.s. Please let me beat McCain"

or, his Western side might have written a note like this if he thought it would remain private.

"Dear jesus, Please protect my family and me from all these non-believers. Forgive me my sins, and help me guard against pride and despair. Give me the wisdom to do what is right and just.  And make me an instrument of your will, praise the father, son and holy ghost. p.s. Please let me beat McCain" 

Ok, I wrote this all in jest, but puleeze,,,  does anyone really believe he wrote such a politically correct generic prayer (not mentioning his god's name) thinking it would remain unread by all the curious people and media?

There's an old saying, "Don't be right, be smart." I think this is something Obama and his advisers expected would happen, and he went for the smart thing.  Smart guy.

I don't want to say I told you so, but...  I asked you all in a previous blog several days ago to keep your eyes open for more attacks and headlines having to do with Arabs from the eastern part of the city perpetrating attacks in the western part of the city.

Again, in just a matter of about 2-3 weeks, ANOTHER terror attack was perpetrated in Jerusalem by an Arab resident of the eastern part of the city.  News stories are again bringing up the idea of East vs. West.

In a Jerusalem Post article, the headline reads:" 'Reconsider employing e. J'lem Arabs', yet when one reads the article, the Mayor of Jerusalem actually only stated: "We should reconsider the employment of these people". The Mayor didn't say 'east Jerusalem Arabs', he said a more general statement of, 'these people', meaning 'Arabs'.  Why try to change his words?

Yuval Diskin, chief of the Shin Bet (Israel's General Security Service), warned of the likelihood of another bulldozer attack just three hours BEFORE Tuesday afternoon's terror attack.

All this doesn't prove anything.  Yet.  But so far, what I asked you to keep aware of is seeming to pick up speed.  Those who want to see Jerusalem divided probably couldn't be happier.  The question still remains, are they in someway behind it?  

I am including two videos below for you to see.  The first one is of the last tractor terror rampage of July 2, 2008, but I believe it will be interesting for you to see because it shows with a computer animation, the actual attack.  You can imagine how scary it must have been and what damage he did when he killed and maimed innocent people in that terror attack.  (Only the first 30 seconds or so is important to watch here.)

This second video is of the actual shooting of the yesterday's attack (with the second tractor driver). 

It's a good thing we Israelis almost all have guns.  I do worry about my American friends who don't own a personal weapon, and don't have anything to protect themselves with if something should happen there.  Even with terror attacks, Israel is a much safer country.  Stay safe, all, and keep reading and paying attention to the news.
