Shall the IDF be the Army of Chelm?

    by Lee Kaplan

For the Army of Chelm, things just do not change.

Shocking news has emerged, thanks to the Israeli news agency Ynet, that two Israeli soldiers allegedly “mooned” an International Solidarity Movement (ISM) “peace activist” who was protecting some Arab shepherds being threatened by Jewish inhabitants in Judea and Samaria. The alleged mooning was done to drive the shepherds
Soldiers dropped their pants in a field to urinate and the ISM pervert got behind them with his camera.
away from “their” fields (all land, including Israel, is "theirs" regardless of legality anyway in the minds of the Arabs and their ISM front group of anarchist-communist weenies). The news story actually was gleaned from an ISM website; not a legitimate news source.

Knesset Member Ahmed Tibi immediately declared the event Israel’s Abu Ghraib. Nothing like an Arab MK who calls for the destruction of the Jewish national homeland to badly imitate Claude Rains in Casablanca: “I’m shocked – shocked! - that there’s gambling going on in here!”

    Sigh....

The talented investigative photojournalist, who only identifies himself as “Sean” (you see, ISM members go on a first-name only basis because they usually outstay their visas and work as human shields for terrorist groups), released the video via the ISM’s website, then got some moron at Ynet to turn it into a story.

Of course, if one looks carefully at the entire video, it is apparent that the soldiers dropped their pants in a field to urinate and the ISM pervert got behind them with his camera. Once the soldiers turned around and saw the cameraman, they made a thumbs-up gesture. Look where the soldiers’ hands are when they are allegedly mooning the sensitive ISM activist’s camera. They aren’t holding their M-16s with them.

The ISM‘s Christian Peacemaker Teams arranges for Arabs to trespass in Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria; and when local security forces show up, the ISMers provoke incidents so they can post them on the ISM website and YouTube.
Christian Peacemaker Teams was paying Joseph Smith’s salary when the ISM activist was in Israel illegally under a new name as Joseph Carr, where he testified in court against IDF Bedouin scout Wahid Taysir for the accidental shooting of ISM anarchist Tom Hurndall. Smith/Carr also doctored photos supposedly showing Rachel Corrie shielding a house just before she was killed. Reuters ran the photos as genuine until it was pointed out they were faked; whereupon, Reuters immediately withdrew them. In that case, the IDF provost got their man also and sentenced Taysir to eight years in prison, when the army should have developed a policy of arresting any ISM activists in closed military zones.

The IDF is apparently becoming the Army of Chelm, since the two soldiers filmed by "Sean" were given three weeks in the brig. In all likelihood, the provost knows nothing about the ISM or its tactics, and is more media conscious than common sense would dictate.

Sean” is no peace activist. He is an anarchist working for the CPT/ISM and wants Israel dismantled to create a Palestinian state. I would wager the provost doesn’t even speak fluent English enough to have read up on the CPT and what they really are: human shields and abettors for Arab terrorist groups.

This entire episode would be worth a good laugh were these two soldiers not given three-weeks imprisonment for
Three-weeks imprisonment for what was really a set up.
what was really a set up. As weekly panels of “IDF refuseniks” are held at colleges all over the USA by “Israeli soldiers” who in fact have lived in America for many years (and who are now just Communist and anarchist American activists), one has to query the Army of Chelm about why they would jail two IDF boys who were photographed by a voyeur as they relieved themselves. Is it any wonder the IDF suffered so badly against the Hizbullah with such leadership?

IDF soldiers should be on guard now lest they have to go to the bathroom in an open field when the CPT or other ISMers are nearby with cameras. It might net them three weeks in the brig.

And people wonder why over 25% of draft-age Israelis are now trying to get out of military service. Who would want to serve in such an Army of Chelm? Military policy right now is if ISM activists interfere with their anti-terrorism actions, they don’t arrest them but call the police to come out and do so. The ISM trains their little revolutionary wannabes that if an IDF soldier orders them out of a closed military zone, then they are to demand to see their orders in writing because the soldiers usually don’t have the time to deal with that. In addition, ISMers photograph their passports so, if told to wait while the soldiers do call the police, they can run away and continue to work against Israel.

The average soldier risks his life to protect the people of Israel, so only the laziest of army brass would allow this to go on year after year, but for the Army of Chelm’s leadership things just do not change.
