"It is always the right time for peace!" some would argue. Maybe so, but relying on the wisdom of King Solomon, there seems to be an appropriate time for just about everything.

A time to laugh and a time to cry; a time for peace and a time for war.

A time to laugh and a time to cry; a time for peace and a time for war. Most of us detest to acknowledge that there is evil in the world and we fail to face up to our responsibilities when confronted with it.

Israel is surrounded by 22 Muslim countries; three hundred million people, most of whom who share the belief that Israel should be "wiped off the face of the Earth," as Iran's President Ahmadinejad has bluntly stated on several occasions. The hundreds of thousands of Iranians who cheer their leader and chant in unison, "Death to Israel!" seem to share his goals.

To want to achieve peace is a noble goal; a courageous endeavor. But when you are surrounded by millions who want to destroy you, is that the time, I wonder, to actively seek to make concessions, gestures and painful compromises in order to chase the dream of peace? Wouldn't the right time for peace be when you are being pursued by millions because they all want and need such peace?

Egypt made peace with Israel when it was obvious that it was in Egypt's best interest to do so. Israel had the Sinai Peninsula and a clear military superiority. Israel's soldiers had a will to fight for their country, along with a skill and courage that sent hundreds of thousands of Arab soldiers fleeing for their lives. Egypt saw this. And they cashed in on it.

Today, Israel's army is bruised. The Israeli people are bruised. Half of Israel's citizens honestly would love nothing better than to leave their homeland. For the trickle of American and other immigrants that flow into Israel for Zionist ideological reasons, there are five times as many Israelis that leave the country each year. And there isn't a single Israeli who is not disgusted with the current political leadership (with the exception of Ehud Olmert, who continues to think he is liked and that all is peachy).

Israel is at a low. With nothing really to offer except to cut its own veins, to hand over parts of its capital, Jerusalem, the strategic hills of Judea and Samaria, to give its most important northern asset, the Golan Heights, to the bloodthirsty Syrians, Israel is setting

Israel is setting herself up for disastrous consequences.

herself up for disastrous consequences.

The right time for peace is when you have the upper hand and you are being begged by your enemies to lay down your weapons and come to an agreement. Then, leaders can talk about compromises and concessions. The very fact of the matter is that Israel today has nothing to give that would not constitute suicide. So, why is she allowed to attend Israel-bashing summits and to sign absurd concessions? Because the people of Israel, who suffer from exhaustion and depression, will not revolt against the tyrants of today. Those tyrants know this. So, they will continue with their contemptuous rule.

As for those of us who fondly remember Rabbi Kook, Rabbi Kahane and the Lubavitcher Rebbe - we are seen, ironically, as the "enemies of peace." Beware of the pseudo-KGB "Season" Jew-hunters and pray that those who prostitute themselves in the parliamentary brothel of Israel repent from their evil ways.

And God help us all.
