With the latest "peace" conference looming on the horizon, one wonders what goodwill gestures the Israeli government will come up with this time. Will it be the usual freeing of "innocent" terrorists? These are the ones that Ehud Olmert's cabinet has determined do not have blood on their hands. Supposedly, they didn't pull any triggers. They just drove

The Israeli government has, in fact, become a living nightmare for Jews.

the getaway cars or helped in the planning and other bloodless activities. I guess Olmert and company have never studied law, because the last time I checked, an accomplice to a crime, particularly involving murder, is as guilty as the actual person detonating the bomb. Or maybe they'll simply feel their usual inclination to show good faith and give back more chunks of the land of Israel to the so-called Palestinians. In all likelihood, however, they'll probably do both.

These wimps-for-leaders will bend over backwards to show a hostile world that they really do want peace and that they reject violence. Olmert and his inept government will get on their hands and knees and, once again, beg the world for acceptance and the right to live and breathe - even if Israel becomes reduced to a one-acre plot. Anything, as long as they can still pretend to be leaders.

This is a government of appeasement to sworn enemies. One that lacks the backbone to protect its own citizens and even its own soldiers. Remember the recent rocket attack that wounded more than 60 Israeli soldiers? As the citizens of Gaza celebrated, Hamas officers went into hiding. They shut down their buildings and headquarters, fully anticipating a strong - and justified - Israeli response. But Olmert refused a military response, stating simply that he wasn't going to do what Hamas expected him to do. No, instead he was going to really surprise them and do, well, absolutely nothing. Hey, now that'll teach ‘em, for sure, Mr. Olmert. No more suicide bombers or rocket attacks from Hamas, because Israel really shocked Hamas by doing nada. Oy, someone wake me up from this nightmare.

Another case in point was the recent campaign to get back the Israeli captives. Why not capture as many Hamas leaders as possible, or take them out, until the Israeli captives are freed? Military action is the only language terrorists understand and Israel, thank God, has the means to speak loudly in such terms. The only problem is that they don't use it.

And so, the downward, suicidal spiral continues from one failed Israeli government to the next. Each one does more harm than the previous one, as they continuously dismantle Jewish communities, give back land that Jews fought and died for - and won in battle. Now, we have the pitiful case of a loser telling the victors what to do. Since when, in any other war in the history of humanity, has a losing side made demands on the victors? Particularly a losing side that started not just one war, but more than six in the past 50 years.

Israel has always been seen as a safe haven for Jews, especially after the Holocaust. But the Israeli government has, in fact, become a living nightmare for Jews, as they witness the dismantling of their small country piece by piece. While Israel has won every one of the wars that the Arabs started, they continue to lose each one in the political arena. Like the ever- popular anti-drug phrase, Israel needs to regroup and, simply, "just say no!"

Since when does Israel need to listen to this sort of ridiculous nonsense?

No more appeasement to terrorists. No more giving back land to sworn enemies. No more doing nothing when soldiers and civilians are attacked. Other than a few good allies, including the US, Israel pretty much stands alone. But it must decide whether it will stand with its head bowed, or stand tall and proud.

Mahmoud Abbas doesn't ask for Jerusalem or the entire West Bank, he demands it. Since when does Israel need to listen to this sort of ridiculous nonsense? And yeah, while we're at it, let's put into existence yet another wacko Muslim country in the middle of the Middle East hotbed. Ain't that just what the world needs now? Trust me on this one, mates. If Israel didn't exist, God forbid, the Muslims would be going at each other's throats and still making trouble throughout the globe.

If Olmert doesn't have the guts to tell Abbas and Hamas to take a long walk off a short pier, then he should, at the very least, look in the mirror and practice three short words: "Just say no!"
