In 1973, the French author and explorer Jean Raspail penned a novel, The Camp of the Saints (Le Camp des Saints), whose basic theme dealt with the submerging of the Western nations in the floodwaters of Third World humanity. The catalyst for this inundation of the industrialized lands stems from a charismatic Indian "prophet" who

decides to galvanize the subterranean masses of his Asiatic homeland in an attempt to swamp a European nation, in this case, France, with a shipload of wretched human flotsam. This successful, non-violent maneuver succeeds in causing a chain reaction throughout the world, as the now-mobilized masses of an emergent colossus of manlike wreckage spontaneously lumber across seas, rivers, mountains and deserts to engulf the entire civilized world in their bovine coagulation.

The occidental governments and peoples, rather than defending themselves against this massive invasion, simply acquiesce in their own destruction in the name of "tolerance" and "anti-racism." It is briefly mentioned that Israel, too, is sucked down by this whirlpool of human chaos. At the time of the book's publication, Western Europe was already quaking under an unprecedented flood of immigration from underdeveloped lands; for its part, the Jewish state would have to wait for the current century to begin to suffer the same experience.

The Promised Land has quite recently become a location of choice in the Middle East for African fugitives, foreign workers and illegal immigrants. These groups have taken advantage of the Jewish state's increasingly lax standards in the areas of immigration, naturalization and refugee control. These problems are, in turn, a corollary of the increasingly liberal-leftist world-view that has uprooted the Zionist ethos in the minds of those responsible for Israeli government policy.

For example, in 2004 then-Interior Minister Avraham Poraz began by distributing citizenship to foreign sports figures and members of the Black Hebrew sect (a group of stateless people who should have been expelled from the country years ago), and attempted to do the same for the children of foreign workers. This prodigal granting of native rights was halted only with Poraz's exit from the government. His successor, Ronnie Bar-On, has seen fit to continue his predecessor's disastrous policies by granting residency privileges to the above-mentioned children in the name of a misguided and potentially destructive abstraction called "human rights." The potential result of such an open-door policy will be self-destruction.

This same avoidance of facts in the name of a bloodless internationalism and desire to embrace the non-White world can be seen in the case of the Sudanese migrants who are currently pouring into the advanced nations, and now Israel, at an alarming rate.
Australia, which has generously opened its arms to this multitude, is now paying a heavy price for doing so. Melbourne, where most Sudanese immigrants have settled, has seen what journalist Richard Kerbaj of the periodical The Australian cites as "growing concerns among police about the emergence of militant African street gangs in Melbourne's suburbs." He also mentions that "young African men raised to idolize warlords and embrace violence are turning to crime and street fighting for 'entertainment' in Australia," and that "street fighting among Sudanese with other ethnic groups was a

growing problem." ("Refugees 'turning to crime for kicks" by Richard Kerbaj, The Australian, December 27, 2006)

At the beginning of 2007, the "Land Down Under" decided to cut back the inflow of people allowed to enter its territory from the Sudan, Somalia and similarly blighted areas. Lincoln Wright of the Herald Sun newspaper writes, "A Sunday Herald Sun survey of 400 cases at magistrates' courts across Melbourne found 14 per cent of offenders came from the Horn of Africa and the Middle East - many of them refugees - about 20 times the representative proportion of the population." He also mentions that "the rise of gangs of Sudanese youths and drunk drivers" also prompted the governmental decision. ("Lock out these refugee thugs," by Lincoln Wright, The Herald Sun, February 04, 2007)

A state is an organic unity of people forged together by history and united by a transcendent idea. It is unified under laws derived from a common historical experience designed to maintain order and cohesion among its members. It is not an organ that requires the advanced societies to offer a permanent sanctuary to the miserable hordes who comprise the majority of mankind. Opinions to the contrary are simply sentimental claptrap with no connection to reality, as the above examples show.

Israel was formed as both a place of refuge for the persecuted Jewish masses, where the Jew could realize himself as a Jew, whether in the religious or the secular sense. Zionism, the love of the land and the wish to participate in its redemption, was the great alembic that cleansed the dross of exile from the soul of the oppressed ghetto dweller. Unfortunately, the socialism that was so integral a part of the mentality of Israel's founders has, over time, eroded the Jewishness of the state and replaced it with the abstract idols "democracy," "social justice," "equality," and "human rights." It is in the name of those beliefs that Israel's leaders have made repeated political, economic, and social concessions to the marauding Arab terrorists who seek to destroy it; it is also in thrall to the same false gods that a human sea is allowed to submerge the only land that Jews can call their own.

There is a decay that has eaten into the heart of the West and Westernized realms, such as Israel, that has caused these domains to fall victim to the previously mentioned ethical phantasms. The decline, first of religion and then of the secular nation-state, has resulted in a societal emphasis on material accumulation as the sole bonding link among men. The qualities that distinguish one nation from another are then deemphasized by opinion makers (Hollywood) and, increasingly, by politicians (Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton), in favor of a mythical equalitarian ambiance that ignores the very real differences among human types.

These attitudes are then mixed with the White-guilt prevalent since the end of World War II, and the accent on economics as the center of man's being, to create a turgid and unhealthful mix. Both capitalists and leftists can then welcome the massive influx of Third World throngs. For the capitalist, these masses represent potential converts to the consumerist creed; for the leftist, the same populace represents the chance to redeem the evil White world by drowning it in a wave of dark-skinned persons. Quantity replaces quality and the only outcome is the creation of the cynical, rootless, faceless self.
There is a decay that has eaten into the heart of the West and Westernized realms, such as Israel.

The Jewish people have achieved a national home after 2,000 years of wandering. Israelis must accept the fact that large numbers of foreign workers and refugees, whether political or economic, are, in fact, a threat to the character of the state. They come from different lands and races, have distinct mentalities and values, and are, as the above examples so amply demonstrate, mostly un-assimilable.

Once the rheumy eyes of the world's poor and desperate are focused upon a location where they are able to enter and remain, they will swarm there without respite. Latin American immigration to the US and Middle Eastern, African and Indian migration to Western Europe, are ample proofs of this assertion.

Photo shoots that depict smiling Israeli soldiers holding chubby cheeked refugee children may salve the consciences of guilt-ridden Jewish liberals, but they will not prevent the formation of fetid ghettos in the heart of the "Promised Land." Israel must pull itself from the water now or sink in the bottomless abyss; there is no other choice.
