It's getting more challenging by the day to list the positive accomplishments of the world's most pretentious, self-serving and corrupt organization - the so-called United Nations. It seems the only thing that the UN is united on is the anti-West and anti-American platform. Then, of course, there's their main focus for concern - Israel. Despite the fact that Israel is the only democracy in the entire Middle East, surrounded by openly hostile and repressive Muslim countries, the UN continues its ever-downward spiral into meaningless oblivion with the constant anti-Israel nonsense.

Let's take the UN's most recent "urgent" issue. Iran's nuclear ambitions? Not a chance. Hizbullah's blatant violations of the cease-fire in Lebanon? Dream on. The huge, horrific refugee problem and mass killings in Darfur? The UN couldn't be bothered. Al-Qaeda's efforts to obtain nuclear weapons? Some other time. No, they had much more crucial matters to tackle. The UN met to condemn Israel for the killings in Beit Hanoun.

Business as usual at the UN, indeed.

There are several important points to consider here. First, unlike Hamas, Hizbullah, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Al-Qaeda, or any of the hundred militant wacko Muslim groups, Israel never deliberately targets innocent civilians. Unlike the terrorists, Israel goes out of its way to minimize civilian casualties. While Israel regrets the loss of innocent life, the terrorist organizations gloat over it. Israel, in fact, apologized for the unfortunate mistake in Bait Hanoun.

But the UN, as usual, is missing the main point: Who started it, and who continues to start things over and over? No great mystery here, folks. There would be no need for Israel to go after those firing missiles from Gaza if the Arabs would simply stop shooting. Sounds rather simple, doesn't it? But these are the type of neighbors that surround the small country of Israel. These supposedly "brave" organizations of terror constantly use regular civilian areas as their shields to fire at Israel. Thus, the Muslims, by their own operating agenda, continually place their own people in harm's way. By siding with the perpetrators of violence, the UN comes across as merely another partner in crime.

Let's not forget that Israel just kicked out all the Jews from Gaza and gave the entire area to the so-called Palestinians. It was an incredibly difficult move for Israel (and, in my opinion, an equally incredibly stupid one); yet, they took this step assuming it would lead to peace. The only thing it did was bring armed terrorists that much closer to Israel's heartland. It was a huge disaster - as every land concession by Israel has been. The more Israel gives, the more her enemies want. As the chunks of land get bigger, the Palestinians are licking their chops, more emboldened and empowered. They are arming more, preaching hatred with greater fervor, teaching racism in full glory, and still not even recognizing Israel's right to exist.

The recent war in Lebanon is a classic case in point that highlights the UN's utter failures. Nearly everyone, including Israel, was surprised at the amount of sophisticated arms and weapons that Hizbullah managed to conveniently "hide" throughout all of southern Lebanon. Besides the thousands of short- to long-range rockets, they had also built up a series of deep underground tunnels for hiding, communications and running their terror war. All this, mind you, right under the nose of the UN. When it comes to Muslim and Arab countries doing some serious violations, whether it's human rights or simply going against UN resolutions, the UN simply turns the other cheek. When it comes to Israel making a mistake in the act of self-defense, the UN suddenly wakes up.

Even now, despite the recent UN-fostered ceasefire in Lebanon, Hizbullah has been actively rearming and regrouping; in complete violation of the UN's own ceasefire terms. If another war breaks out, G-d forbid, we can extend much thanks to the UN for pretending to do their job, but, as usual, failing miserably. Rather than stop the idiots who provoked the last war, the UN threatens to shoot down Israeli spy planes that are simply doing what the UN forces are supposed to be doing ? monitoring the area and making sure the ceasefire terms are being adhered to.

In matters related to Israel, the UN has lost all its backbone and its moral compass - if it ever had one. When was the last time the UN sat down to condemn any of the 20-plus Muslim countries that practice wonderful social phenomena like: fostering terrorism; teaching and preaching hatred and racism; recruitment and brainwashing of children as suicide bombers; violence against women; and repression of legitimate democratic expression by civilians? The list could go on, but maybe we should ask this question a slightly different way: When was the first time the UN sat down to condemn such a country? The answer is, of course, never. The UN simply has too much Arab influence on its hands to come clean. They will continue to do what they always do, ignore the real problems (including their own - no, make that "especially their own"), and condemn and criticize America and Israel at every opportunity.

Perhaps the most serious issue is the UN's posture towards Iran's nuclear program. A nuclear weapon in the hands of a madman is not too healthy for anyone on this planet. Especially if that madman publicly denies the Holocaust, calls for the complete destruction of Israel, and rants and raves about how terrible the US is. But it's business as usual for the UN. They will fiddle while Rome burns - just as they are doing in the case of Darfur, where the killing spree goes on unabated.

Let's not be fooled here, folks. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, unlike the UN, means what he says. When someone publicly states that he's willing to lose half of his country (for those keeping track that would put the numbers lost in his own country at around 35-37 million) to take out Israel, it's clear he's not playing with a full deck. When the Iranian dictator stated that he would outlaw not only Western music, but also Christianity, it's pretty obvious he doesn't even have half a deck. But it's even clearer that nuclear weapons in his arsenal would be a disaster for the entire world.

It's also clear as day that the UN will not take any direct action against Iran. Words are meaningless with Iran. Any terrorist knows that it's easy to fool the well-intentioned and politically correct Western countries. Terrorists regard treaties, dialogues, and non-military sanctions with disdain. To them, it simply shows weakness of the "infidels." Unfortunately, the only language they understand, and respect, is force. Israel used just that when it did the world a huge favor taking out Iraq's (French built - surprise, surprise) nuclear plant back in 1981. Of course, the world pretended to be upset at Israel's chutzpah. But they all slept a lot better at night.

Today, 25 years later, the stakes are significantly higher; the potential damage, astronomically higher. And, thanks to leaders like Mahmoud and his pet in Syria, the number of brainwashed Islamic terrorists willing to kill and die "in the name of" is growing all the time.

It's time to nail Iran's nuclear reactors, before it's too late. The truth is that we cannot even imagine the horrors of some Islamic terror group having nuclear weapons. Whatever would be left of the planet would become their hostage. I can only pray that the US or Israel will have enough foresight to take care of business before it's too late for all of us.
