In Buddhist scripture, "The disciple's mind is at one with the master even in death," and Abu Mazen is certainly proving the validity of this belief.

What does Abu Mazen have in common with Yasser Arafat, even after his death? Like Arafat, he would never put his life on the line to bring peace to his people. Saving his own skin is the most important thing to him, even if it means living a life in shame.

In 2003, I wrote an article based on media reports that Abu Mazen had refused to confront the terrorists within his own ranks, saying, "We will not risk a civil war."

Addressing Abu Mazen, I wrote, "[S]ince you have decided that the existence of terrorism and tyranny in your country is more important than the innocent lives of the civilians you have murdered, any further declarations of your opposition to tyranny and terror are no longer valid. Unfortunately, we must now take the necessary actions to bring an end to your empty postulations of non-aggression, which have no more validity than those of Premier Tojo or Hitler during World War II."

I also reiterated an earlier statement: "Whether it takes two years or a hundred years, until every vestige of tyranny and terror is eradicated in your civil institutions, and in the minds of your people, all negotiations will cease immediately."

Now, it's almost two years later and the seed of evil has given fruit.

55 miles from Jerusalem, in Gaza, the Palestinians were recently celebrating the resurrection of Yasser Arafat. There, ten days before free elections, Abu Mazen guaranteed the Palestinian people that he would protect the terrorists. A few hours before his inauguration speech, Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade launched a terrorist attack and killed six Israeli citizens.

In his inauguration speech, Mahmoud Abbas condemned violence, urged an immediate cease-fire and then said, "Our hand is extended toward an Israeli partner for making peace."

In a meeting in October of last year to appoint four new leaders to his cabinet, Arafat called for "reconciliation" with Israel and renewed his condemnation of attacks on civilians. "I extend my hand in reconciliation to the Israelis to resume the peace process launched in Madrid in 1991," said Arafat. He likewise called for Israel and the Palestinians to be "good neighbors".

"We want to live as neighbors. Let us find a common ground for the security we desire, which you desire, for our common security," said Arafat.

Since the established media has forgotten that they keep reporting this same story line from theses two terrorists time and time again, they now have become as old and stale as Mahmoud Abbas is in life as Arafat in death.

Unfortunately, Abu Mazen, like Arafat, is only one in the long line of tyranny's illegitimate sons, born from the soulless womb of Islamic oppression, an oppression that has fathered the children of terrorism and has hosted the disease of poverty in the Arab lands for over 900 years.

Israel, your endless restraint in the face of suicidal attacks on your nation is now taking its toll on America's patience. Your endless quest to find honor in Palestinian hypocrisy, to achieve peace, is beginning to turn the tide against you. Americans want a final resolution to this conflict, and they want it now.

I hear it more and more now, even at work, even from the conservative Right: "If it was not for Israel, we would not be fighting in the Middle East and our boys would not be dying there. Let's pull out and let Israel fight it out with the Arab League. Enough is enough."

America is a "Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death" nation, and, like you, Israel, the odds were certainly stacked against America when she fought for her survival in her war against the British. Being a free people and an ally of America, the American people expect nothing less from you.

Recently, I talked to a well-known political analyst of Middle Eastern affairs. After some pleasantries, the conversation turned to the Israel-Palestine conflict. I then said, "Israel is about to lose the support of the American people unless she launches a full-scale attack on the entire Palestinian terrorist-infected population and destroys Iran's nuclear power plants. The time to finally put this conflict to rest - along with that repulsive slogan "cycle of violence", which portrays this conflict as one of equal culpability - can wait no longer."

He became outraged; he said I was a fanatic and a danger to Israel, because without Israel's restraint, in support of the Bush initiative in the Middle East, she would be doomed.

Israel, it is not the disapproval of President Bush you should fear, but the loss of support from the America people.

In the past, every time a Jewish person called for a declaration of war against the Palestinians, the Muslim world rejoiced; they knew that person was going to be called a fanatic by his fellow Jews. Now that such voices are beginning to be heard, the Muslim world is worried, because the armies of the righteous are only a few miles away from their doorsteps and are on the brink of serving a final eviction notice on all the occupants of their terrorist estate.

Most recently (Associated Press, January 14, 2005): "Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on Sunday said he has ordered Israeli forces to intensify efforts to stop Palestinian attacks, adding that the military would act without restrictions until Palestinian leaders take action against militants themselves."

While Sharon's proclamation, "Until Palestinian leaders take action against militants themselves," is a step closer to final resolution, it is still one step too short. It lacks the punch a final ultimatum would bring to end the terrorist nightmare: a "Declaration of War" if one more terrorist strike is launched against the nation of Israel. The idea of resuming negotiations with Mahmoud Abbas, even if there are promises of a temporary cease fire by the terrorists themselves, can no longer be considered a viable option to achieve peace.

The time to bring down the curtain on this play of madness has arrived. You cannot put the fate of liberty in the hands of those who embrace tyranny and hate, and hope to survive.

Let me make it perfectly clear, Israel must never again be sabotaged by fraudulent dialogue cloaked in the diplomacy of peace. Honoring phony documents at this stage of the game will only lead to destruction. The door for future negations with the Palestinians must now be sealed shut so not one particle of their plague of deception can be allowed to escape, or Israel will find that even its most ardent supporters will unknowingly be negotiating for its demise in the future.

This will be Israel's last chance to keep the support of the American people. Israel, if you wait, without first putting the Palestine matter, along with the Iranian nuclear threat, to rest, then it will be all downhill from here.
