Mutton Dressed Up As Lamb

The first thing that comes to mind for someone like myself, who has never had the pleasure of visiting your country, is two isolated islands far removed from the rest of the world and tucked away in the far-off reaches of the Southern Hemisphere. The first thing that comes to mind for someone like myself, who has never had the pleasure of visiting your country, is two isolated islands far removed from the rest of the world and tucked away in the far-off reaches of the Southern Hemisphere. I can clearly picture hillsides overrun with sheep and the sound of cricket bats heard above the clink of teacups on a perfect summer's day.

In fact, the ratio of sheep to people in New Zealand is in the region of 30:1, or in real terms, approximately 120 million sheep to 4 million people. Under normal circumstances, it would seem nigh impossible to make any comparison between the rather simple sheep and the human population. However, since I read of the New Zealand government's recent slamming of Israel's destruction of Palestinian homes, and its subsequent loan of hundreds of thousands of dollars to the United Nations to help "the refugees", I am actually beginning to wonder if the simple sheep are in fact the government, albeit dressed in wolves' clothing.

Sheep are simple, obedient and timid grazing creatures that flock together. In sheep society, there is usually a leader, quite often, but not restricted to, a ram that has already proven his superiority to the flock. The ram in this instance came in the shape of Associate Foreign Affairs Minister Marian Hobbs. She was quoted as saying - and not even having the grace to do so sheepishly, "We have been shocked and appalled by the recent displacement of thousands of civilian refugees following the destruction of their homes in the past few months." The rest of the government, as is typical of sheep, follow blindly along, usually because they trust the group, or simply because they are unable to think for themselves.

Without wishing to insult 120 million sheep, I do have to ask myself if indeed there was a serious drought this year. This would have undoubtedly led to the deterioration in the sheep's usual grazing pastures. I must further assume that when these poor creatures are faced with such hardship, their plaintive bleats can be clearly heard in many parched New Zealand valleys, worrying farmers enough to supplement their meager diet.

In the case of the sheep-headed New Zealand government, their woeful bleats have been so loud that they simply did not hear the whole story. Their diet was so poor that they had to be supplemented with massive doses of Palestinian propaganda, backed by the heavily biased and Israel-bashing UN. The sort of evil rhetoric churned out daily by the Palestinian Authority is specifically designed for brainless, non-thinking creatures like sheep, which have an inadequate capacity to make any distinction between the crops and mindless crap, enabling them to greedily swallow up these tragic tidbits faster than two pathetic shakes of a lamb's tail.

The New Zealand government was busy chewing the cud on a scenic hillside when Palestinian gunmen came out from behind the camouflage of a house and shot a heavily pregnant mother and her four little daughters, in cold blood.

The New Zealand government was too preoccupied with the shearing season and, over the noise of the machinery, they didn't hear the blasts that blew several young Israeli soldiers to smithereens as they tried to destroy tunnels that have been used for smuggling weapons, often through private civilian homes.

The New Zealand government was too busy listening to the weather reports affecting the grazing of their sheep to hear the Palestinians' whooping in delight as they raced like cannibals through the Gazan streets with the blown-up body parts of those young Israeli soldiers.

The New Zealand government was too busy exchanging lamb recipes to watch as UNRWA ambulances were ambushed by these ghouls so they could use the precious parts of our soldier to force Israel into painful concessions for their return.

In fact, the New Zealand government seems to be in total denial when it comes to Palestinian terrorism and no doubt have never stopped to consider that the PA leadership is none other than a wolf in sheep's clothing.

The New Zealand government should, in fact, have no need to donate any funds to the so-called plighted Palestinians, as it is a well-documented fact that they have had more aid money than any other people on this planet. Yasser Arafat, who heads these beleaguered people, recently found his way into Fortune magazine as one of the richest men in the world, which is quite a feat for someone governing people whose poverty was recently compared to the Sub-Saharan continent.

Despite the claimed poverty of the poor Palestinians, the New Zealand government is happy to turn their sheepish eyes away from the constant terrorism they have inflicted on Israel. They seem to have totally overlooked the fact that aid money donated by the billions has gone absolutely nowhere, least of all to improve the living standards of the people. Maybe it would take the combined intelligence of a flock of defenseless sheep to point out that the Palestinians, despite the "poverty" do have a never ending supply of weapons and ammunition at their disposal. The heavy toll of terrorism has forced Israel to make unpopular decisions to remove this threat, coming too late for the already 1,000+ innocent people who have been targeted.

The New Zealand government is simply having the wool pulled over its eyes by the never-ending Palestinian yarn spinning. This has obviously blurred their vision to such an extent that the sheep-like eyes of Yasser Arafat are not recognized as they should be - for evil dressed up as lamb.

Of course, maybe the New Zealand government has its own agenda when it comes to Palestinian terrorism. After all, they must be the only free and democratic nation in the Western world to allow residents of one of the world's black sheep nations, in the shape of Saudi Arabia, into their country without a visa.
