Long Over Due

Of course there is a lot of emotion going through Israel right now. Every Israeli has to have a reaction to the elimination of the murderous leader of Hamas, perhaps the most well-known Palestinian terrorist organization.

My immediate feeling was one of delight and now it's one of excitement. He was the terrorist leader of a terrorist organization and his being killed needs to be looked at as the right thing for Israel to do. Of course, there will be attempted revenge attacks against Israel and now, for the first time, the United States, but in the long run it was, the right move.

We could not sit still while we wait for more terror attacks to be planned. For more of our children's lives to be destroyed. Israel should have taken him out long ago, along with any and every other viable threat against our land and our people.

What frustrates me most is that now is the time for all of Israel to lift our heads with pride and show that we will stand up against our enemies. We will not remain silent before those who want to wipe us out. But there are many among us who want to hide, who want to turn their faces yellow and run. Look how quick are Dasan and Aviram ? I mean (Avraham) Poraz and (Tommy) Lapid ? to let the world know that they voted against the elimination of Ahmed Yassin. They are two scared puppies, worried about the world's reaction, scared about what the big bad terrorists are going to do to us now. Yossi Beilin and Yossi Sarid are the same way. At least Shimon Peres was pushing off his comments until later, always the politician.

Even if they, and others, feel like hiding in shame, at a time like this, the entire country needs to stand firm and support our prime minister. Let the world see that we are as one in our fight against terror. We will not be silent. We will not be sheep led to the slaughter.

Then, the Palestinian Authority declared three days of mourning. Wasn't it the PA's job to eliminate Hamas? To arrest the terrorist leaders? This was the agreement they made with us. The world has to acknowledge that this is a crystal clear sign that the PA is a supporter of terrorist leaders and terror in general.

And how about this statement from one of our members of Knesset, Ahmed Tibi? "The Israeli government and its leaders have committed a war crime." How long are we going to let these parasites have a say in how we run our country?

The time is now to let our soldiers win. Now is the time to fight back hard, not to tuck our tails and run. Every Jew around the world should pray to G-d to show us His mercy and let us win the fight against our enemies. We will be condemned no matter what we do.

Surprise! The European Union condemned our actions. So did the United Nations. Britain was one of the first to condemn us. I guess they want the terrorists to know they are scared of them, also. Who will have the courage to get up and say that Yassin was the head of a terror organization responsible for hundreds of atrocities?

There is one way that we can take the focus off of the Yassin elimination; one way to get everyone to stop talking about what we did to Yassin. And that is, to eliminate our number one enemy, Yasser Arafat. His time has also come.
