(An Open Letter to Knesset Member, Zahava Gal'on)

Dear Ms. Gal'on,

All my letters to you regarding the subject matter of this open letter were ignored. As you chose to disregard my entreaties and justifiable complaints, I have no choice but to expose it in the general media. As an Israeli, you owe me the courtesy of responding to one of Israel's citizens; as an American, you owe such courtesy to one whose tax-money is used to furnish your Knesset office and pay your salary. Having ignored both reasons, please read on.

Ms. Gal'on, the gist of my letters to you were as follows:

I read that your are requesting that Attorney General, Elyakim Rubinstein, begin initiating the pursuit of a lawsuit against Artuz-7 Internet. The reasoning behind that, correct me if I'm wrong, was the posting of an article written by Mr. Gil Ronen. The, article, you analyzed, is, ?an incitement to murder and racism.?

Ms. Gal'on, I admire your spunk and your abhorrence of evil towards others. I admire the fact that, in contrast to most Knesset members, who do nothing but abuse their position, you are embarking on a worthwhile project. I think you are doing a marvelous job in 'cleaning' the air of unwanted debris. Thank G-d, we still have those who will not be deterred in their pursuit of universal justice. How I wish that the Knesset would sprout more piety and justice. Bravo, Ms. Gal'on, bravo and carry on.

Having dispensed with my accolades for your spectacular move, I am asking you to request that Attorney General, Elyakim Rubinstein, immediately launch another investigation with the ultimate goal of prosecution and conviction; the 'fish', Ms. Gal'on, is much bigger than the one you are attempting to catch and your name will become as sacred as that of Joan D'Arc.

The person I want Mr. Rubinstein to prosecute, Ms. Gal'on, was a political figure in the not-so-long-ago past and is still regarded as a prominent member of Israeli society. In his former capacity, every word he uttered had the power to ignite and inflame the passions. His stature at the time, combined with his rhetorical incitement against me, personally, infused a tremendous dose of venom into an already charged and biased sector of Israeli society. His incitement for murder was directed at me, my parents, siblings, family members and neighbors. I kept quiet until now, because there was no one as determined as you are, no one capable or gallant enough to pursue the required justice and to redress the tremendous shame and hurt. Our lives were in jeopardy, Ms. Gal'on. He was prominent, powerful, an established icon in Israel's politics.

Ms. Gal'on, the person I want you to pursue into the courtroom of social and racial justice is none other than, Mr. Teddy Kollek, former mayor of Jerusalem.

Yes, Ms. Gal'on! This is the person I want you to pursue. His anti-Chareidi, anti-religious feelings and attitudes are his to address, to fight or to make peace with. However, when Mr. Kollek stands on a public podium and speaks with brim and fire about eradicating me and my family and neighbors, etc., I believe it is called 'an incitement to murder'. Don't you?

In a speech I will never forget, Mr. Kollek, shamelessly and with vigor and conviction, said the following:

"Hachareidim hem ha'sartan be'kirbeinu vechayavim la'akor otam me'ha'shoresh...." ? to translate: "the Chareidim are the cancer in our midst and we need to cut them out with the root...."

Is this 'incitement for murder' or not, Ms. Gal'on?

I am sure that, in your fairness, you will research Mr. Kollek's speeches in order to determine the truth. I'm sure you will find other speeches he made in the same vain and venue. I am positive that you will charge forward in order to corral another rabid racist. I'm sure that you will do your best to see to it that Attorney General Rubinstein acts immediately to right an awful wrong against an entire sector ? albeit, a Jewish sector.

Or does the fact that he spoke against Jews and not against Arabs make a difference? I hope not. And I certainly hope that you will not retreat or back off simply because of who he is.

Thank you so much in advance for your prompt response to my request.
