A turbulent parsha

The miraculous crossing of the Reed Sea was not the way life was going to be, Hashem was saying in one of the verses in this parsha. There would be suffering and war, difficulties and illness.

We are not the people we were for 2000 years.

They can hate us but we are strong and powerful as a people today.

Still, we have to know that there is "mishpat" (laws and events we understand) but also "chok" (things we cannot fathom).

Awesome, frightening, terrible chok will come - the Holocaust - but then will come mishpat.
