Lenin famously referred to those who work against their people’s own best interests in support of their enemies "useful idiots” – and shamefully, the American Jewish community has a large number of them.
Organizations like J Street & New Israel Fund are tools that help beat Israel over the head, whether in the media or in corridors of power.
Uzi Silber, an Israeli psychologist, wrote a few years ago about “Jew Flu”, which he described as “the virus of Jewish Anti-Semitism, and its Jewish Anti- and Post-Zionist mutations, afflicting a small but inordinately loud minority of Hebrews.”
Silber’s brilliant piece is worth revisiting. Here are some quotes about "Jew Flu":
“Its modern symptoms are a rejection of Israel's identity as a Jewish state and a dismissal of its right to defend itself militarily, while embracing the goals of its nihilistic Arab enemies. Those infected with the virus wildly inflate Israeli sins real or imagined, while excusing or rationalizing Palestinian anti-Semitism and outrages against Jews.”
As Silber described those with“…Jew Flu deny their infection, contending that criticism of Israel isn't Anti-Semitism or even Anti-Israel,” and that “the afflicted regularly engage in at least one of the following -Demonization (comparing Israeli actions to Nazism and referring to Arab refugee camps as Auschwitz);- Double Standards (singling out Israel for human rights abuses while ignoring the blatant human rights violators such as Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Palestinian Authority, North Korea, Cuba, China, Myanmar etc); and Delegitimization (denying Israel the fundamental right to exist as a Jewish state).”
A boycott against Israel is something which mainstream left and right wing supporters of Israel stand against.
Yet, American Jewish donors to the New Israel Fund provide more than $30 Million Dollars annually to this organization which openly and proudly supports boycotts of Israel.
Prime Minister Netanyahu on Sunday at the weekly cabinet meeting said “The boycott generators do not see the settlements in Judea and Samaria but the settlements in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Beersheba, Haifa, and of course, Jerusalem, as the focus of the conflict.” Netanyahu continued, “We must not cave into the pressure, expose the lies and attack the attackers. We shall unite forces in Israel and abroad, expose our enemy’s lies and fight for the Israeli citizen’s right to live their lives peacefully and safely.”
The sane and healthy stand with Israel – And those suffering from Jew-Flu including Alisa Doctoroff, President of UJA-Federation, The Jewish Communal Fund, The Nathan Cummings Foundation, The Jim Joseph Foundation,The Jacob & Hilda Blaustein Foundation, Joan & Irwin Jacobs, the Laszlo N. Tauber Family Foundation, Karen R. Adler, the Joan and Robert Arnow Fund are “useful idiots” harming Israel.
They must be countered loudly and strongly.
Harvard Professor Ruth Wisse rightly says that “the rapid demoralization of Jews in the face of anti-Zionism… shows the depth of the influence of the past, for many have yet to achieve the simple self-respect that has been eluding the Jews collectively since the dawn of modernity.”
We will expose their lies and we will stand with Israel against the boycott.
