Netanyahu is Too Little, Too Late
Netanyahu is Too Little, Too Late

“The days when the Jewish people remain passive in the face of genocidal enemies, those days are over!”

When I heard this from Netanyahu, said before Congress in his historic speech, I could almost visualize an angel in the form of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane hovering above him. The statement was greeted with thunderous applause by members of Congress who attended, while a minority of about forty boycotted the event and even did some outside spin for President Obama.

Nancy Pelosi, once a strong supporter of Israel, wrote that  Bibi “insulted” Obama. Over the last few years, she has been lobbied unceasingly by the same ISM activists who recruit volunteers for riots in the "West Bank". Much of their recruiting takes place in her San Francisco Bay Area district, with the help of other maniacs such as Hamas backer Medea Benjamin and Global Exchange. Pelosi, like other members of Congress, has thrown her lot in with the Democratic Party, no matter how ludicrous its leftist base has become.

He made no mention of even the most recent arms embargo by Obama during Operation Protective Edge. He made no mention of the State Department quietly putting Israelis on visa restrictions.
I wrote nearly three years ago that since the President and U.S. State Department were so obviously intent on assisting Israel’s enemies, the Prime Minister needed to go directly to the American people - who are strong supporters of Israel. This meant going to Congress as Netanyahu has done now, but back then.

Today is too little, too late.  Today, the US government is running a public relations campaign to end Israel’s existence as a Jewish state and replace it with an Arab-Muslim dominated one. Since American grassroots support of Israel is so overwhelming, this campaign entailed helping to set up Palestinian propaganda bases on US college campuses to mold American opinion for the coming generations, as well as in churches and labor unions, and in the media. This campaign is a classic Rico Operation of racketeering for foreign entities.

CAIR, with Saudi money, also managed to lobby to deconstruct the work of the FBI, our security agencies and even US churches that once strongly supported the Jewish state. The time for Bibi’s speech - that is, for an Israeli prime minister's speech - was years ago, but the juggernaut of dismantling a Jewish state that began with Henry Kissinger in the 1970’s has now reached the top echelons of the U.S. government at a fever pitch.  Obama is the first of our presidents to try to succeed at it non-stop, Kerry is his pitbull.

For example, when President Bush held up arms shipments to Israel in the middle of a war with Arafat, that was the time for then Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to go before Congress.  When Sharon declared, “Don’t make us the next Czechoslovakia,” Israel’s Foreign Ministry jumped on him to apologize to George Bush, which he did.

But even now, when Bibi finally took the initiative that Sharon and Olmert would not, he walked on eggs in his speech.

As he outlined the threat from  Iran (which he did well) he made no mention of even the most recent arms embargo by Obama during Operation Protective Edge.  He made no mention of the State Department quietly putting Israelis on visa restrictions. He said nothing of requirements that the jet fighters Israel buys from the US for self-defense cannot be upgraded  by Israel so they are not better than those of the Saudis and other Arab dictators facing Israel.

Is it true, as Netanyahu said, that the days of passive Jews are “over”? It certainly sounds good. But as he spoke, Muslim Arabs physically block Jewish worshippers who ascend the Temple Mount to pray, and those Jews who dare to do so are arrested by Israeli police. The Prime Minister’s Office knows that Hamas, the terrorist organization, pays Arabs to riot on the Temple Mount and attack those Jews. Has the government done anything to stop this? Have they arrested these Arabs as spies for an enemy terrorist organization? The process is still ongoing.

Israeli government ministers have been alerted to subversive plans by Arabs to recruit American college students on US campuses for years. Today, in California, state taxpayers are paying to send naïve students to the "West Bank" where they are lectured on how IDF soldiers routinely torture and use Palestinian children for target practice.

The first tour group from the Olive Tree Initiative actually met with Reed Salah, the Hamas leader, during one tour and were told not to tell the Israeli authorities about the meeting. When word leaked out, did Israel forbid these tours? Not at all. What started at one campus soon become a program at all the others with taxpayer donations thanks to the former “Jewish” president of the UC System and local Jewish Community Relations Councils.

When Anna Baltzer, an ISM Tokyo Rose who calls for the destruction of Israel and has openly cavorted with Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade terrorists and boasted about it wanted to bring in a tour group to train them how to go back to the US and promote boycotting the Jewish state, even in Congress, Israel let her in and out to continue her life’s work.

Aren’t the few examples above of Jewish passivity disturbing, Prime Minister Netanyahu?

Here’s another one:

Boycotting Israel is already illegal by US law. The simple truth is the Secretary of Commerce ignores the law. I once approached AIPAC when the new Secretary was being appointed and urged AIPAC to lobby Congress to not approve the new appointee until he promises that Commerce will enforce the law to the letter. Incredibly, they hemmed and hawed then refused to do so. Today, Israel is worrying about this boycott nonsense. Meanwhile, the State Department even works with the boycotters, even cooperating with them to send their flotillas to Hamas in Gaza.

Most important, is Bibi did not discuss some of the major reasons why the Obama administration is hell bent on allowing Iran to develop nuclear bombs. He mentioned the souk mentality of the Iranians and he was right.

What he didn’t mention was that the lifting of the sanctions has opened the floodgates to American businesses who see a goldmine in doing business with Iran. Apple is poised to enter Iran. IPods and other phone gadgets ae currently sold on the black market there and Apple can cash in. General Electric already warming up to enter the Iranian economy. And don’t forget the altruistic oil industry.

The Iranians will never give up making a nuclear weapon. They have all the oil they need for power and their military exercise destroying a mock US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf shows what they are up to (Netanyahu, in fact, mentioned this).

Incredible as it may seem, the State Department and Obama administration see Shiite Iran as a future ally against Sunni expansionism in the region, especially against ISIS. Susan Rice and Susan Powers, like Obama, are products of the American college system where “colonialism” is bandied about as an American program rather than the promotion of democracy in a world of dictatorships.  I can just visualize Susan Rice, like any college “academic denizen”, telling Obama about why we need to embrace our enemies  as a different way of looking at the world.

Rice once suggested using military force against Israel to “protect” the Palestinians from Israel. At the AIPAC speech the day before Bibi’s speech she stated that the Obama administration “has Israel’s back.” A non-passive Jewish leader at that point wanted to say, “Yes, to stick a knife into it.”

Netanyahu made no mention of US fighter jets allegedly planning the shooting down of Israel aircraft sent to take out the Iranian nukes. Congress needs to pass a law forbidding this. A non-passive Jewish leader would have told Congress this is an overt threat against a close ally. It reveals the desperation of the Obama Administration to carry on and demands that a Jewish Prime Minister address it publicly.

I see Netanyahu as the best we have at present to reelect as Prime Minister. But I feat that once he leaves Washington, the lobbyists will take over in Congress and Obama’s plans will go forward. I hope I am wrong. But get ready to face a nuclear Iran, Israel, those days of Jewish passivity ain’t over just yet.
