Perhaps It's Time for Them to Leave
Earlier this month, a young 20 year old Israeli kid in the air force, Amog Shiloni succumbed to multiple stab wounds inflicted by a Palestinian terrorist.  His heartbroken twin brother, Sahar wailed, “he just wanted to get back to the air force base he was on leave from.”

Within a few hours of this incident an Israeli woman, Dalia Lamkus was later stabbed to death near the Alon Shvut Jewish settlement in the West Bank.  The assailant was shot by a security guards.  Predictably, as a result of his death Palestinian Arabs throughout towns and villages in Judea and Samaria began to riot and hurl stones at security people.

To the families of these victims one tragedy does not supersede another but on October 23rd a particularly gut wrenching event occurred.  Chaya Zissel-Brown, a three month old baby girl was killed and seven other people were wounded when Abdel Rahman al Shaludi, a Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem drove his car on the tracks of a light rail flush into disembarking passengers.

Say this for the Palestinians both in Gaza, Judea/Samaria, and within Israel itself, when you think they’ve reached the nadir of uncivilized barbarity they manage to take it down another layer.  This past Tuesday they substantiated this argument.

To the delight of of revelers in both Gaza and Judea and Samaria, during morning prayers, two Palestinians burst into a hareidi Synagogue in Jerusalem and with guns and axes savagely butchered four Rabbis; Moshe Twersky, Aryeh Kupinsky, Cary William Levine, and Avraham Shmuel Goldberg.  Eight others were also wounded including a policeman that later died during the shootout which killed the attackers.  At this point few can deny that when it comes to inventive ways of maiming and killing people. the Palestinian Arabs have no equal.

From the bombing of the Sbarro pizza restaurant in Jerusalem in 2001 which resulted in the death of 14 Israelis and one pregnant American woman, to the massacre of 19 people the following year at a Passover service in Netanya, to the slaughter of five members of the Fogel family in 2011.  The carnage goes on, and on....and on.    It’s easy to discern that the methods have changed, but the deadly results remain the same:

The amount of Innocent Jews killed and maimed from Palestinian terror since Israel’s inception in 1948 is mind boggling and if one is to judge by their rhetoric, things look to get a lot worse.

Some observers question, why now?

The answer:  Palestinian society has been generationally indoctrinated against Jews by successive leadership, in the home, in the Madrases, throughout the educational system, in the Mosques, and in the media.  Their doctrinal hatred is so pervasive it goes without question.  Their ingrained disdain of Jews far precedes the creation of the state of Israel and in fact the 20th century itself.

Like their supporters in BDS (Boycott, Divest, Sanction)  movements throughout the world, the Palestinian Arab leadership, in all its terrorist splendor, does not preach anti-Zionism, not even anti-Semitism.  To coin a phrase, they are imbued with “anti-Jewishism” in all aspects of their lives.  It’s on this backdrop that Israel is being vilified by the EU, the United Nations, and absurdly cajoled by the Obama Administration to make peace with a people that have no inclination to do so.

Fanning the flames of this deep seated malevolence is none other than Israel’s imposed “partner for peace,” Mahmoud Abbas. Following what he feels to be the wind at his back due to increasingly greater support by the Europeans;  overwhelming backing at the United Nations, and a clueless Obama administration, the old terrorist has ignited this latest spate of acrimony.

Continuing a history of incitement, his call to arms would have made co-founder of the PLO, Yasser Arafat proud.  In total prevarication he has called upon his people to “prevent the desecration” of the Al-Aksa Mosque.  To him Jews praying at the Temple Mount compound (part of the second Temple and Judaism’s holiest site)  is tantamount to desecration.

Unfortunately, an Iron Dome can not protect a Jew from being stabbed in the street or a barbarian from driving his car over a baby in a stroller.
Inspiring hordes of rock and Molotov cocktail  throwers, he’s accused Israel of changing the status of Muslim Holy sites by allowing Jews to pray there.  Prime Minister Netanyahu responded by saying:  “Instead of telling the truth, he is disseminating lies.  As if we intend on acting in any way to change the status of the holy places.  That is a lie and falsehood.”

The usual questions of the progressive left in both Israel and the United States continue ad nauseum:  What motivates the Palestinians to so much violence?  What can we do to co-exist peacefully with them?  Would the creation of a Palestinian state imposed upon the 1967 armistice lines placate their anger?  Along with the canard of two states living side by side in peace, such questions are increasingly falling upon deaf ears within Israeli society.

A majority of Israelis seem more reflective of Sahar Shiloni, the brother of the aforementioned slain Air Force Sergeant, who, when speaking of his brother, said:

“It just can't be like this. There are soldiers and people getting hurt, being stabbed in the streets. You can't go out in this country alone, you can't go out into this country quietly. This is our state, we fought for it.”

And fought for it they did....and won.  A fact that seems forgotten by the Europeans, the United States, and even some in Israel.

It is not just morally, not just historic claim to the land, not just the UN recognition of the Jewish state, Israel won this land fighting and winning four wars and countless terrorist  attacks since 1948.  She has at least as much right to fly her flag over her capital Jerusalem and the rest of Judea/Samaria as the United States does in the Southwest of this country and certainly as much as England has flying a variant of the Union Jack in the Falkland Islands.  Her citizens, like others democratic, sovereign nations throughout the world are entitled to protection from enemies within and outside her borders.

Unfortunately, an Iron Dome can not protect a Jew from being stabbed in the street or a barbarian from driving his car over a baby in a stroller.  Barricades  and walls, effective for many years preventing bombings of buses, restaurants, and day care centers are useless against these new murderous tactics.  As we have seen, a solution to one depravity by this insidious enemy is always countered by a new one.

For 66 years the Jewish people in Israel have not had a moment’s respite from incessant war, terrorism, and intimidation.  Now more than ever it is unmistakably clear the status quo if allowed to continue guarantees more of the same for generations to come.

What’s needed today if Israel is to survive as the homeland of the Jewish people is a complete separation from its hostile Arab population.

Separation?  I can hear the cries reverberating as I type.  You can’t do that, it’s ethnic cleansing.  Isn’t that what the Nazis did? To begin with it would be a separation from its “hostile Palestinian Arab population.”  To those wishing to remain in Israel (Judea/ and Samaria included) an oath of allegiance would have to be sworn to the Jewish state.  Those which refuse to do so would be offered fair market value for their property and unlike the 850,000 Jews expelled from Arab lands in the 1950’s and 60’s they would be allowed to leave with all their possessions and compensation.  But leave they must.

Where would they go?

England, Sweden, France, Spain are just a few of the nations in Europe that have expressed sympathy for the Palestinian Arab cause irrespective of their recalcitrance to compromise, refusal to even recognize Israel as a Jewish state and their deep rooted hatred of Jews.   Gaza would also be a suitable point of deportation to the more militant individuals and factions.

To those making an analogy to the Nazis it should also be remembered the Holocaust did not occur because Jews were bombing, stabbing, or gassing Germans.  They were victims of Nazi genocide, a professed genocide a majority of Palestinians and their leadership would impose upon Jews given the chance to do so.

Would this bring peace to the region?  Absolutely not.  What it will do is offer peace to a Jewish mother wheeling a stroller down the street in Jerusalem; a soldier on his way back to base from leave, a family of five sleeping in bed, and a Rabbi praying in a Synagogue.
