Op-Ed: Who Said "Europe Will be Cleansed of Jews"?

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was right. The West has been deceived by Iran and the U.S. military threat has never been less credible. A worse agreement could not have been signed in Geneva, where a religious revolution motivated by the establishment of an Islamic regime and by an annihilationist anti-Semitism was granted the right to enrich uranium on its own territory. It is Hiroshima plus Allah.

Geneva also provided historic legitimacy to Iran. The deal has broken the siege around that regime. Iran sanctions will not come back if they are dismantled now, because they were the result of a decade of lobbying around the Western governments, hungry for contracts with Tehran. And if the sanctionsl fall, Iran will not abandon its evil plans. Good manners towards the Islamic Revolution have always proved an invitation to more violence.

Meanwhile, Netanyahu’s face is the very mirror of Israel’s sense of abandonment by its US ally. Israel, after Geneva, isolated as never before, has been placed on the same level as those who want to extinguish it. Ahmadinejad, Rafsanjani, Khamenei and Rohani and all the other Iranian leaders are calling for Israel’s destruction, they predict Israel’s destruction, they dehumanize the Israeli Jews, they accuse Israel of perpetrating mass murder (a blood libel), they advocate the expulsion of Israeli Jews from the Middle East and they deny the Holocaust to facilitate the next one. The West rewarded them for their anti-Semitism.

It is not an accident that Geneva’s architects are John Kerry, who proclaimed as “illegitimate” Jewish life in Judea and Samaria, and Lady Ashton, who when four innocent Jews, including three children, were murdered outside a school in France, condemned the massacre while making note of children "dying in Gaza". A reporter in Geneva asked Ashton’s spokesman to comment on Ayatollah Khamenei’s words, since he said that the Israelis must be exterminated. The young man said he did not really mean it. Silence from Kerry’s office as well.

Seventy years ago, the fate of the Jewish people was decided in a beautiful villa at 56-58 Am Grossen Wannsee, a lake near Berlin. “Europe would be combed of Jews from east to west”, Reynhard Heydrich stated. The Western democracies didn’t bomb Auschwitz's railway.

This week the most severe existential threat to the Jewish people came from a Swiss hotel. In both cases, the world at large stood idly by and didn’t seem to care, while it is asking the Jewish people to dismantle its “settlements”, the only natural barrier against a new Holocaust.

A terrible wind is blowing again in the West. This week 14 European states announced that they are ready to blacklist and boycott Jewish products from Judea and Samaria. A few months ago, only two countries were ready to do that. It is because weak Jews excite the Gentiles’ homicidal passions.

These days, from the Shin Bet’s heads to the US Jewish leaders, I saw only pusillanimous complacency and sordid opportunism on the faces of these powerful Jews. They hope to save their own careers. It happened during Wansee as well, when Jews in the ghettos said: “the Nazis need us”. No, they didn’t.  And  the West today would like to rid itself of the State of Israel.
