The three victims of Sunday morning's shooting attack in Gush Etzion have been identified as El-Roi Kapach and his daughters Rachel and Avigail.
Kapach, 35, was seriously wounded when terrorists opened fire from a passing vehicle at the Tekoa Junction. Rachel and Avigail. who are 9 and 14-years-old, were lightly injured by shrapnel and treated for shock. All three were taken to Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center for treatment. Kapach will undergo surgery for gunshot wounds to his upper body.
Kapach's father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dov and Rachel Kol, were murdered in a similar terrorist shooting attack in Gush Katif 18 years ago.
The family of the victims has asked the public to pray and recite Psalms for their recovery, and in particular to pray for the recovery of El-Roi Ben Batsheva.
Gush Etzion Mayor Shlomo Ne'eman stated at the hospital: "Thank G-d we just heard a few minutes ago that El-Roi's injuries are not life-threatening, but he is about to undergo a series of surgeries. I thank the security forces who will soon catch the despicable terrorists, and settle the score with them. The regional council and our staff are assisting the family and the residents of Nokdim through this ordeal."
An initial investigation showed that the terrorists arrived at the junction and that one of them apparently left their vehicle and opened fire. After the shooter re-entered the vehicle, the terrorists fled the scene.
IDF forces continue to search for the attackers. Several backpacks believed to belong to the suspects have been found.
