
The Health Ministry is demanding the imposition of a lockdown in dozens of cities and towns across Israel, including Dimona and Kiryat Gat, Channel 12 News reported Tuesday evening.
According to the report, the ministry is still compiling the full list of communities it wants to lockdown in response to the rise in coronavirus cases.
The Health Ministry announced Tuesday evening that 469 new cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed over the last 24 hours, raising the number of active coronavirus cases to 7,403.
Since the pandemic began, a total of 25,041 cases of the virus have been reported in Israel, with 320 fatalities and 17,318 people recovering from the virus.
232 patients are hospitalized as of Tuesday evening, 52 of whom are in serious condition. 24 patients are on ventilators. 61 patients are in moderate condition.
19,922 coronavirus tests were administered yesterday, while 13,727 tests have been administered so far today.
