Approximately 5,000 Muslim and pro-Palestinian Authority people demonstrated on Saturday in London's streets in protest of Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's visit.

Netanyahu left Israel on Wednesday evening to attend the event marking 100 years since the Balfour Declaration and hold diplomatic and economic meetings.

The protesters marched from the US Embassy towards the British Parliament in Westminster, holding Palestine Liberation Organization flags and signs declaring that the Balfour Declaration was a "disaster for the Palestinians."

Opposite the anti-Israel protesters stood pro-Israel demonstrators, holding Israeli flags.

Speaking ahead of his departure for London, Netanyahu said: "The Palestinians say that the Balfour Declaration was a tragedy. It wasn't a tragedy.

"What's been tragic is their refusal to accept this 100 years later. I hope they change their mind, because if they do they can move forward finally to making peace between our two peoples," he said.
