The family of murdered and kidnapped IDF soldier Hadar Goldin spoke on Saturday night with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu about the appointment of Yaron Blum as the new coordinator for issues concerning missing and captive Israelis.

The previous coordinator, Lior Lotan, stepped down in August after three years in which he voluntarily held the position.

Hadar Goldin and Oron Shaul were killed and their bodies kidnapped by Hamas terrorists during 2014's Operation Protective Edge .

"Yaron Blum has taken on a great responsibility, and he has a clear mission: To stand up for the values of the IDF and Israel's other security agencies, and to bring Hadar and Oron back to Israel," the Goldins said.

"Israel's government currently has an unprecedented opportunity to effectively pressure Hamas, and enlist the aid of the international community. [The government] now has the ability to agree on the best prisoner swap in years.

"Two long months have passed since Lior Lotan resigned. We have been waiting three years and three months for Hadar to return to us, and the sands in the hourglass have run out.

"Netanyahu, via his new coordinator, must bring our soldiers home. He must use every means available so that he does not miss this opportunity."
