A group of US Congressmen and Israeli MKs called for the recognition of Israel's victory in the SIx Day War and sovereignty over all of Jerusalem as a prerequisite to peace Tuesday.

"50 years after our great victory in the Six Day War, the time has come for the other side to recognize that it has lost," said MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beiteinu), chairman of the Knesset Lobby for Promoting the Recognition of the Israeli Victory, in a message to the 50th anniversary of the Six-Day War.

"The attempt to wipe the State of Israel off the map has failed, and recognition of our victory, which means that Israel is the nation-state of the Jewish people, is a condition for progress in peace. 50 years after the victory, it is clear that without a Palestinian recognition there will be no solution," he added.

The lobby to promote Israeli consciousness of victory in the Knesset was launched two weeks ago and is working alongside the a similar lobby in the US Congress, which includes 20 members of Congress.

Congressman Ron DeSantis (R-FL) and the chairman of the parallel American lobby said: "Fifty years ago, during the Six-Day War, the Jewish people were restored to their historic capital, Jerusalem. The Israeli leadership is in Jerusalem."

"[Israel] allows freedom of religion for all religions, Christian, Muslim and Jewish - something that did not exist during Arab control of the city. However, Israel is the only nation in the world where an American embassy is not located in its elected capital," he said.

He criticized US President Donald Trump for failing to relocate the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. "The waiver of the embassy's passage to Jerusalem expired on June 1 and President Trump signed another six-month concession. We have made this error in the past and it is very disappointing that the president rejected it again."

During the month of July, members of the American lobby will meet with their Israeli counterparts.
