ערבים משתוללים - גם בלוד

At least five Arab demonstrators were arrested in the central Israeli city of Lod, after holding an illegal demonstration praising recent terrorist attacks against Israel, during which Palestinian Authority flags were unfurled.

Sources told Arutz Sheva that at one point during the demonstration Arabs attacked police hurling rocks and bottles at them, while chanting anti-Israel slogans.

At least one police officer was lightly injured after being struck in the head with a rock.

In response, Jewish residents of the mixed city held a vigil against terrorism opposite the protest.

It comes after a day of terrorist attacks targeting Jewish Israelis throughout the country.

The violent demonstration comes just one day after similar riots in Jaffa, another mixed Jewish-Arab city in central Israel.

Jewish residents of Lod have long complained of Arab violence towards them, and frustration boiled over Saturday night after Arab attackers shot two children in their sukkahs during the Sukkot festival.
