On the heels of US President Barack Obama’s conciliatory letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, and reportedly “inconclusive” direct US-EU-Iran nuclear talks, Ayatolla Ali Khamenei tweeted and Facebooked to the world that the United States is the “only nuclear #criminal in the world.”

Khamenei goes on to explain: “that is to say the U.S., that has attacked the oppressed people of #Japan with #atomic bombs, is falsely claiming to fight the proliferation of #NuclearWeapons.”

Ayatollah Khamenei is widely believed the ultimate and absolute decision-maker over any Iranian nuclear issues. Khamenei recently launched a twitter-rampage directly urging the “elimination of Israel” through “arming the West Bank just like Gaza.”

Khamenei’s Facebook-post explanation that the US is “the only nuclear criminal in the world” was posted with Khamenei’s latest imaginative “infographic” which, signed directly in the name of “Ayatollah Khamenei,” compares the “American view of Nuclear energy” – symbolized by a nuclear bomb mushroom cloud – symmetrically matched with the “Islamic view of Nuclear Energy,” which Khamenei symbolizes with a serene tree and a mountain.

The infographic alleges that “A bitter irony of our era is that the U.S. Govt, which possesses the deadliest nukes and the only country guilty of its use, is today eager to carry the banner of opposition to nuclear proliferation!”

Of course, no Khamenei infographic would be complete without spewing some bile against Israel. And true to form, the ancillary Khamenei Facebook post claims, “The U.S. and its Western allies have armed the usurper Zionist regime with nuclear weapons and created a major threat for this sensitive region. Yet the same deceitful group does not tolerate the peaceful use of nuclear energy by independent countries.”

And in a new trend, Khamenei’s graphics are beginning to repeat the claim that Khamenei somehow issued a fatwa against nuclear weapons that he has never actually published. In the infographic Khamenei states, “The Islamic Republic of #Iran considers the use of nuclear, chemical and similar weapons as a great and unforgivable #sin. 08/30/2012”

But, to date, Khamenei has failed to publicly release his alleged anti-nuclear fatwa. Many experts say Khamenei’s anti-nuclear fatwa is a hoax – a Fatwa Morgana of sorts.

Moreover, Khamenei and Iran have failed to square Khamenei’s supposed injunction against using unconventional weapons with the fact that Iran's proxy, President Bashar Assad of Syria, appears to not have used chemical weapons on his own people.

Iran has also sent Shi’ite militiaman to Syria who, along with Assad's own forces, are reported to have killed close to 300,000 Sunni Muslims.

It remains unclear whether it is religiously sanctioned by Khamenei for Iran’s proxy, Assad, and Iran’s Shi’ite militias in Syria, to murder 300,000 Sunni Syria Arabs – as long as it’s not with a nuclear bomb.
