Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon (Likud Beiteinu) on Sunday evening visited the family of kidnapped teen Naftali Frankel in the town of Nof Ayalon. Danon was accompanied by former Republican presidential primary candidate Mike Huckabee. Frankel is an American citizen, the family told Danon and Huckabee.
Few in the international community have outright condemned the kidnapping of Eyal Yifrah (19), Naftali Frenkel (16), and Gilad Sha'ar (16), said Danon – who added that this is an extremely hypocritical way to deal with the situation. “All the hypocrites who condemn Israel day and night for all sorts of reasons have apparently forgotten to condemn the kidnapping of the Israeli youths by Hamas terrorists.
“The visit here by Governor Huckabee is very important, not the least because he represents a large group of Americans for whom support and friendship for Israel is sincere and honest, as opposed to the hypcrisy of many in the European Union who prefer to ignore the kidnapping of the three youths," Danon said.
"I'm here not just as an American but as a father,” Huckabee said. “I think every parent in the world feels something at the pit of their stomach with the thought of something like this happening to their own child.”
"Americans need to hear this story,” he said. “This is an American citizen, this is one of us. And even if he wasn't – this should not happen to any young man or to any parent... Whoever is behind this must feel enough pressure to realize that the only decision they have to make is not when they give these boys back but how soon, and as safely as possible.”
