15 Injured in Car-Bus Collision

15 injured in traffic accident between school bus, private vehicle near kibbutz Beit HaShita; light to moderate injuries

15 were injured in a collision this morning (Sunday) between a school bus and a private vehicle, near the Beit HaShita junction. Beit HaShita is a kibbutz in the Jezreel Valley, located between major cities Afula and Beit She'an. 

Paramedics and Magen David Adom (MDA) officials at the scene treated 15 injured. One passenger, a 19 year-old man, has suffered moderate injuries to the chest; 14 others - the bus driver, two passengers in the private vehicle, and 11 children ages 13-15 - have light injuries. All of the reported wounded have been transferred by MDA officials to the Emek Medical Center in Afula.

About 5 minutes after the collision occurred, an additional accident was reported between two private vehicles on the road between Afula and Beit She'an. Paramedics at the scene treated two injured - one, a man estimated to be about 50 with moderate injuries, and another passenger with light injuries - and also transferred them to Emek Medical Center.
