An Arab attempted to steal a weapon from an IDF soldier in Hevron early Thursday morning. The attack was successfully repelled, and the Arab was placed under arrest.
The incident occurred when IDF soldiers attempted to arrest the Arab for questioning on recent rock terror attacks in the area. The Arab resisted arrest, and began throwing rocks and other objects on the soldiers. As the soldiers advanced to arrest him, he jumped on one of them and attempted to steal his weapon.
The soldier fought back, and shot the Arab when he had the opportunity. The Arab was lightly injured in the incident. He was taken to a hospital in Jerusalem for treatment, and finally put under arrest. Two soldiers were also lightly injured. They were treated on the spot by IDF medics.
