A newly-released IDF audio documents that militants aboard the flotilla’s Mamara ship fired at Navy commandoes, who were under orders not to fire.

With the sounds of shots in the background, the audio records a commando saying on his radio, "I need reinforcements here with me.

“It’s [firing] is coming from all directions. We need to be evacuated now. They have real weapons [guns]. Real weapons.”

The dispatcher on the helicopter hovering over the ship responded, “They have real weapons?’

The soldier responded, “They are firing on us.” There is live fire below.”

The IDF also released new photos showing that the flotilla was carrying military aid for Hamas. The cargo of “humanitarian aid” included a rifle scope, night vision binoculars and bullet proof vests.

Previous photos showed more than two dozen knives, wooden clubs and metal rods.

However, foreign media have widely quoted the militants and their supporters that they used “sticks” to defend themselves.
