The Palestinian Authority continues to broadcast incitement against Israel and Jews, according to the watchdog group Palestinian Media Watch. On February 11, PA TV aired a pre-recorded interview with a woman who called on Muslim mothers to “sacrifice a child for Palestine.”
The woman, whose terrorist son died in an Israeli air strike, described herself as proud that her son had “achieved martyrdom.” She said, “We had always hoped for his martyrdom, knowing he wanted to die as a martyr [shaheed].”
"My message to every mother is to sacrifice her child for Palestine,” she added.
Another woman interviewed for the program described slain terrorists as “grooms,” reflecting the belief that “martyrs” will be given virgin brides in paradise. A music video broadcast by PA TV as recently as early February gives voice to this belief as well, depicting a young man who is shot by Israeli soldiers and is welcomed in Paradise by smiling young women dressed in white.
Similar incitement is broadcast by Hamas TV as well. In January, Hamas broadcast a sermon in which a Muslim cleric described the reward believed to be given those who die fighting “enemies of Islam.”
"Allah has chosen from among us, and from the best of His creations, to be the martyrs [shaheeds]... If we knew what Allah has prepared for the martyrs in paradise, we would not sit idly in this world,” the cleric told his audience.
