Ahead of Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s major policy speech Sunday evening, border police forces knocked down the “Obama” civilian outpost, cynically named for the U.S. president who has vehemently opposed Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria since taking office.

The start-up neighborhood, also called Maoz Yonatan, is located a short distance away from Kochav Yaakov in Samaria.

Border police forces arrived on the scene at around 3:00 a.m. Sunday and quickly knocked down the two make-shift structures at the site.

After the demolition, police said around 20 youth caused disruptions, even burning several tires. Police arrested two adults and one child, charging that they disturbed the peace.

“This is just a warm-up for Netanyahu’s speech to flatter the Americans,” Baruch Marzel, aide to MK Michael Ben-Ari, said. “Netanyahu should remember that the people of Israel chose him as their leader – he is not an appointee of [U.S. President] Barack Obama.”
