Yisrael Kimche of the Jerusalem Institute for Israel Studies reports that while the Arab population in Jerusalem is growing more quickly than others, Jewish growth is increasing while Arab growth decreases.

Kimche also discussed positive and negative growth in other areas. Tourism in Jerusalem has increased dramatically in recent years, passing the number of visits reported prior to the outbreak of Arab violence in the city in 2000.

In addition, Jerusalem's Jewish groups have reached a demographic balance that has reduced tensions in the city, he said.
