Two Palestinian Authority Arab men were wounded on Monday night when Border Police officers opened fire during a chase in the Hevron region. According to initial reports, officers opened fire after the two suspects attempted to run down security forces at a checkpoint.

The chase began when border officers realized that the two suspects had illegally entered Israeli territory from the PA-controlled section of Judea and Samaria.

One of the suspects was lightly wounded and the other was moderately wounded. The two received treatment at the scene and were transferred to hospitals. No officers were hurt.

Earlier in the day attacks were reported elsewhere in Judea and Samaria. PA Arabs lobbed firebombs at Israeli motorists near the village of Azoun in Samaria. Israeli drivers were attacked with stones in Hizme and next to the village of Naalin. A car and a bus were struck near Carmei-Tzur in Gush Etzion.

No injuries were reported in the attacks, but damage was caused to some of the vehicles.

On Sunday night, PA terrorists shot and murdered two police officers who stopped to help them when they feigned a flat tire. The victims, 50-year-old Yechezkel Ramzarkar and 42-year-old David Rabinowitz, were laid to rest on Monday.

A group calling itself “The Imad Mughniyeh group” after assassinated Hizbullah arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh claimed responsibility for the attack. The claim could not immediately be verified.
