The coastal city of Ashkelon became the focus of intensified rocket fire from Gaza on Thursday as IDF forces continued to press terrorists in ground operations.
Two long-range Grad rockets struck the city at around 12:30 p.m. A sport center was severely damaged after it was hit by one of the missiles. The other Grad exploded in an open area and caused no damage.
A third missile followed approximately 30 minutes later, scoring a direct hit on a building. Three people were lightly injured in the attack. An hour later a fourth grad rocket hit the city, sending several into shock but causing no damage.
Three PA Arabs were also brought to the emergency room at Barzilai Medical Center with moderate to serious wounds at approximately 11:00 a.m. after being transferred through the Erez Crossing from Gaza.
It was not clear under what circumstances they were brought in.
